My heart was touched this weekend when I received the following letter from a student named Anna Lynch from Gallaudet University.
Here is what the letter said:
Greetings Deaf Dogs Rock,
I am at Gallaudet University as a freshman, and enrolled in a first year course entitled General Studies 103 – ASL and Deaf Studies. We had a project called “The $5 Project”, each of us donated $5 and raise as much as we could to support a non-profit organization. We had to pick one organization that serves Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and research. And then we are required to give a persuasive presentation to convince our classmates that the non-profit we selected was deserving of the money in the class pot.
I decided to support deaf dogs instead of people so I selected Deaf Dogs Rock and I received the most votes based on my persuasive presentation, so I am sending you the donated money from our class to you. I hope this helps in many ways to support deaf dogs and your organization.
Best Wishes, Anna Lynch

When I opened the letter a check for $ 170.00 was enclosed. This will cover two neuter surgeries and one transport run to get a deaf dog to safety!

Thank you so much Anna for choosing Deaf Dogs Rock as your chosen non-profit organization to do your persuasive presentation on. All I can say is you must have done an fantastic job in your presentation to receive the most votes. Congratulations!
100% of all donations we take in here at Deaf Dogs Rock go directly to saving deaf dogs who need medical attention, pull fees, rescue fees, and transportation fees to get deaf dogs out of high kill shelters into rescues and foster homes. Monetary donations buy these deaf dogs the time they so desperately need to receive medical care (spay/neuter), training, fostering and networking to find them loving homes.
Well as you can imagine, Nitro, Bud and I were very touched. A big shout out goes out to Anna and her entire class for supporting our mission to save as many deaf dogs as we can and to also educate the general public that deafness is not a disability. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud and myself, Anna and her classmates at Gallaudet University totally ROCK!
We are honored and touched by your generosity. ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
