Meet our Deaf Dogs Rock Star of The Week, adoptable deaf/vision impaired one year old Gage who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, give him time to settle into a new home, love him and always keep him safe. He has been adopted out and returned because he runs into other dogs so maybe he would do best as an only dog but more importantly find someone who is willing to really give him a chance and not give up with challenges arise.

From a volunteer advocate: I am a volunteer at Gulf Coast Humane Society in Ft Myers, Florida. There is an amazing deaf and partially blind dog there named Gage. I would love to get him a forever home. He is an absolute gem. The bravest soul. I believe Gage would do well with a family. The more people to love him, the better.
He originally came in as a transfer from Clewiston animal control. He was so nervous when he arrived. He would shut down on walks and would need to be carried back to his kennel. He breaks my heart on walks, as he looks out at traffic watching the cars, as if he is looking for his owner. He is doing much better on walks now.
He was adopted on August 16th and returned the following day because Gage kept walking into his dog. Poor thing.

Gage – 1-Year-Old Bulldog/Terrier Mix

Meet Gage, our 42-pound lowrider cutie! This handsome Bulldog/Terrier mix may be deaf and partially blind, but don’t let that fool you—he’s full of love, sweetness, and charm. At just 1 year old, he’s still a young pup with so much life ahead of him.

Gage is a very nice boy who adores people and thrives on attention and affection. His special needs don’t slow him down one bit—he’s smart, adaptable, and eager to be part of a family who will love him for who he is.

Because of his unique needs, Gage must be the only animal in the home. He deserves to be someone’s one-and-only, and in return, he’ll give back endless loyalty and love.

If you’ve been searching for a sweetheart to fill your days with joy, Gage is waiting to meet you.

Gage’s adoption fee is $100.00
