Meet adoptable deaf puppy Fritz (DOB 11/10/24). Fritz is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority, and always keep him safe.
From his rescue advocate: Fritz is a large-breed, partially or fully deaf puppy. At just 10 weeks, he is already a whopping 23 lbs. and will likely grow to be over 100 lbs. Despite his hearing impairment, he’s very much your typical puppy and will do well in a home with routine and continued training. We have been using a vibration collar and training him to follow visual cues from us. He’s already great at sit, down, and stay (mostly when waiting on food). With more time and consistency, we are sure he’ll master the basics soon enough! He is also doing great with walking on a leash.
Because he doesn’t know how loud he is, he’s made it clear he’s not the biggest fan of his crate, but he does well penned in a space at night. Some trial and error might be required to figure out what will work best for you and your household. He is doing well with house training and will sit at the door when he needs to go out. Being able to follow the lead of a companion dog would be very helpful to him. He is great with other dogs and kids and loves to play!
Fritz is goofy and loves to pounce around on his toys. He likes textured toys (squeaks and crinkles do nothing for him) and will happily lay down with a toy between his paws while you work around the house. He has moderate energy and will do well in a household that matches that (or with a brother or sister to play with). He loves to spend time outside and has been enjoying jumping into our leaf piles and chasing us around. He is going to grow into the most lovable, fluffy goofball.
