Meet sweet adoptable deaf 14 month old bully mix Freya who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment/exercise a priority and always keep her safe.

From her advocate: Freya is a social butterfly through and through! Freya loves all people and hopes that every dog would like to be her friend! She is active and outgoing and wants to be included in your social circle, outdoor adventures meeting and making friends and also a great solo walk companion. This little apricot pittie mix dreamboat is intelligent and active, she also enjoys National Geographic documentaries and nature shows and cuddles on the couch.

Freya’s Ideal Home requires a gentle and patient household. A dog savvy adult home would be ideal (we can have a conversation about older teens who are gentle, patient and dog savvy).

We recently confirmed Freya is hearing impaired or possibly completely deaf; which explains her heightened senses of sight, touch, and smell. Also explains why Freya is so unbothered by loud noises or sudden loud noises, she LOVES sitting calmly on walks and just people watching and watching cars go by, and around the holidays loved seeing all the decoration lights. Freya needs a family who is willing and able to invest in her special needs, continue to teach her signs for communication, and invest in positive reinforcement training to continue to improve her manners.

Freya had FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy- hip surgery) in October 2023 and healing well; she would benefit from PT sessions, but we have been going at her pace on walks and increasing distance and variety of terrain as she continues to recover and become stronger. Freya enjoys spending time together outside in general and is happy to sit and watch the birds and smell the air. Freya is a big fan of the water and I’m sure would enjoy swimming! Freya LOVES being included in family activities and hopes for a family willing to invest in her needs, keep her safe, and include her in activities that bring her joy. Freya is still in her puppy phase and will benefit from training sessions; she is exuberant and a bit of a cannonball in excitement and just learning signs for communication. Freya is intelligent and needs mental stimulation and positive reinforcement and patience. Freya is waiting to be welcomed into her forever family as a beloved family member who will continue to help her thrive and feel loved and live her best life.
