Our Deaf Dogs Rock Community sponsored 10 deaf dogs and puppies into special needs rescue in the second month of 2025! Thank you to every single person who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in February 2025 so we can continue on our mission of helping deaf pups into rescue. A special thanks goes out to The Unstoppables Project for a grant they awarded to Deaf Dogs Rock so two deaf dogs could be sponsored in the month of February. The Unstoppables Project is a collective group of dog lovers who have a passion for the perfectly imperfect and they advocate for, educate about and financially support dogs that are differently abled.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

If you would like to donate in honor of a person, your deaf dog or in memory of one of your pets, you can send us a photo for our Honor/Memory Wall and donate here.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $250-$300 on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page so we can encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each dog’s vetting expenses, may of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.

Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 10 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in February 2025 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. In 2024 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 149 deaf pups into the safe arms of rescue and we are kicking off 2025 starting with 24 deaf pups sponsored into rescue since 1/1/2025.  So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1701 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 2/28/25).

Sarah – Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona

Our friends at Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona stepped up to help sweet deaf and visually impaired Double Merle puppy Sarah. They heard from a young lady who has purchased an Aussiedoodle puppy from a breeder but her boyfriend’s resident dog did not take well to the new deaf puppy named Sarah.

After the attack incident, the caregiver of Sarah reached out to Amazing Aussies desperately seeking help and placement for her deaf Aussie doodle puppy. Sarah was attacked by a large dog who bit and attacked Sarah at about 16 weeks old, just missing her eye, and causing a 2″ wound inside her back leg. Sarah’s caregiver admitted she was not capable of taking care of her deaf puppy Sarah. When Amazing Aussies agreed to take deaf puppy Sarah, her caregiver was so thankful for Amazing Aussies and she surrendered Sarah into their care. Amazing Aussies ran a DNA profile on Sarah immediately and received her DNA results and found she is a carrier of the MDR1 gene. This is very important information to have when getting the puppy help. Knowing this will assist Amazing Aussies with keeping Sarah safe and when she gets potential adopters Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue Team will educate her new family on the restrictions of what a puppy with the MDR1 gene can have and cannot have as far as vetting goes.. Fortunately Sarah is not a doodle, her DNA indicated she is 99% Aussie & 1% Sheep Dog.

Doxy puppy Tortellini – Pink Heart Rescue – Indiana

Deaf Dogs Rock put out a rescue plea for deaf Aussie Lucy at Fort Worth in October 2024. It took some time for a rescue to step up but we have great news. Proverbs 10-12 Animal Advocacy/Rescue/Sanctuary not only rescued deaf Aussie Lucy.

Marlee – Proverbs 10-12 Animal Rescue

We wanted to thank are friend Keri Chaney for donating $500 through her employee matching program which will cover both Lucy and Marlee’s sponsorships.

Zeke – Sanctuary Acres Boxer Rescue – Virginia

Sanctuary Acres Boxer Rescue stepped up for a senior deaf boxer named Zeke who was left behind at a home that his owner (who had him since he was 10 weeks old) was evicted from his home. Zeke appears to be at least 13+ years old and is deaf and vision impaired. SABR rescued and transported Zeke on 2/27/25 and they desperately needed to raise funds to get Zeke to a vet ASAP. Deaf Dogs Rock sent in a $300 rescue sponsorship though our Nitro’s Fund Program which is specifically set up to help deaf boxers in need of a rescue sponsorship for their vetting. Thanks to Sanctuary Acres Boxer Rescue, Zeke is now safe. If you would like to help a deaf boxer in need, please check out Nitro’s Fund for more information. Thanks to our friends Vern and Patricia Kerst for donating to Deaf Dogs Rock in March so we could help sponsor some of Zeke’s upcoming vetting bills.
