Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of February to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 18 deaf dogs into rescue in February 2023. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to last year in 2022 and the beginning of 2023 so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.
It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $5000 and $7000.00 each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships! If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.
Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered be before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians).
Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 18 deaf dogs/pups in February, 2023 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in this year our DDR community has sponsored 35 deaf pups into rescue in the first 8 weeks of 2023.
Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1362 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 02/28/23).
Below are the recaps of each deaf puppy we sponsored into a partner rescue in the month of November 2022

Our friends at Speak For The Unspoken in Ohio are hearing from shelters all over the state with deaf puppies being dumped at kill shelters and because they work so closely with the shelters they are in constant contact with shelter staff to rescue deaf and deaf/blind puppies coming into the shelters. Ohio has a lot of puppy mills and even with a perfectly normal hearing puppy sales for dogs are way down because of this recession so not only are we seeing a lot more deaf and deaf/blind puppies but many of the rescues are stepping up and taking 30 to 40 dogs at a time as some of the Amish puppy mills go out of business. All six of these deaf puppies Cowboy, Roomba, Cowgirl, Grogu, Nube and Andy will all be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship fund to help with their vetting costs to get them ready for adoption soon. We want to also thank Cynthia Husar and her deaf dog Phil who ran a Deaf Dogs Rock Facebook Fundraiser and raised enough funds to sponsor all six of these puppies vetting.
Elfie – Green Dogs Unleashed
We are seeing so many deaf puppies coming out of the woodwork across the country. What many people don’t realize is there are so families who have purchased a puppy from a breeder only to find out their new puppy is deaf, The families worry about returning a deaf puppy to a breeder because they worry what might happen to the puppy. Most families will take the financial loss (the purchase price of the puppy) and reach out to special needs organizations trying to get placement for their deaf puppy if they feel overwhelmed and not equipped to raise a deaf puppy. We are so happy when they reach out to us here at Deaf Dogs Rock! Meet sweet deaf puppy Alfie who is being sponsored into Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program.
Lotta – Harlee’s Angels Handicapable Ranch – CA
Thanks to Mary for reaching out to Deaf Dogs Rock and making us aware of deaf/blind puppy Lotta. Sweet Lotta will be sponsored into rescue with Harlee’s Angels Handicapable Ranch in Riverside CA through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help the rescue with Lotta’s vetting expenses. Thanks to Shawna Hamon with Harlee’s Angels for making room for sweet Lotta at her ranch.
Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – St. Louis MO

Above 13 week old deaf Aussie Corwin
You know that old saying “when it rains, it pours!” We such is the case this month with our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary. So many deaf and deaf/blind puppies needing rescue out of shelters across the country. Thanks to our friends at Speak, these five are safe and heading to their foster homes where they will be loved, cared for, vetted and get some socialization and training. All five puppies will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help their rescue with their vetting costs to get them ready for adoption. Thanks to our supporters who donate to Deaf Dogs Rock so we can continue to help our partner rescues like Speak continue to rescue deaf dogs and deaf/blind pups in need.
Jack – Green Dogs Unleashed – VA
When a person from West Virginia reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock because they needed a safe place for a deaf puppy Jack to land we reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they could make room for Jack. Jack arrived 3 weeks later from West Virginia and is now in foster care learning new things and meeting new people. Jack is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help GDU with some of Jack’s vetting costs to get him ready for adoption in the near future.
Viola – Perfect Imperfections Rescue – CT
Trisha with Perfect Imperfections Rescue in CT mentioned that Viola came from Canada and sadly her adoption didn’t work out as her prey drive was too much for the cats in the house. Sending Viola back TX wasn’t a good option because deaf dogs don’t get adopted easily down there (because there are so many deaf dogs and puppies in Texas). Deaf Dogs Rock will help Viola through a special fund we have set up specifically to sponsor deaf boxer dogs like Viola into rescues like Perfect Imperfections. Viola will be a recipient of a sponsorship from Nitro’s Fund.
Lucy – iRescue – Texas
When Deaf Dogs Rock heard about a deaf blue heeler in a Weatherford Texas we put out a rescue plea offering a sponsorship for deaf blue heeler Lucy. Our friends at iRescue in Killeen Tx pulled Lucy. Lucy will be a recipient of a Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with her care and vetting. A bit shout out and thanks to iRescue for helping Lucy and also to our friends Pat and Vern Kerst who helped us sponsor sweet Lucy into rescue.
Monty – Pink Heart Rescue – IN
Thanks to our friends at Pink Heart Rescue for saving Monti from a shelter in TN. Monti will be vetted and receiving one on one training with a trainer and his new foster family. Monti is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help with his care and vetting costs.
