The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.
We work with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our program to make sure each deaf dog/puppy gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and are here to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicants veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf dog/puppy is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home.
It is our number one mission to make sure each deaf dog and puppy gets basic training, socialization. are in a loving and caring foster home where their confidence soars. Our partners set each deaf dog up for success. Jan – November 2018 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored a total of 130 deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.
In February 2019, our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 6 deaf dogs into the safe harbor of rescue so they can start on their new journey to finding their forever homes.
For the past five years Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 537 deaf dogs/puppies (as of 2/28/19) into rescue and we could not have done it without the full support of our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community so thank you, thank you, thank you for the bottom of our hearts! ~ Christina Lee and the entire DDR team
Athena – Poet’s Vision Aussie Rescue
When Tanya with Poet’s Vision Aussie Rescue reached out to us about a deaf feral border collie puppy we were happy to help her with the pup’s vetting by sponsoring deaf puppy Athena through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program. This puppy just won the deaf dog lottery where it will get the socialization, training and vetting it needs to ready for her journey to her new home.
Tillie – Green Dogs Unleashed
Thanks to our rescue warrior women at Almost Home Rescue in Katy Texas who take in the deaf puppies, get them into foster care for a few weeks while they get their shots and then send them on to Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia. Tillie is one of our latest Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship recipients and she is just a doll baby. Thanks to Caroline and the Almost Home Rescue Team, The Highway Heroes Rescue Transport team, all the volunteer rescue transport drivers, to the Green Dogs Unleashed rescue team and thanks to all of our loyal supporters that help us help deaf dogs like Tillie make it into the safe harbor of rescue.
Memphis – German Shepherd Rescue of San Diego
When we heard from a shelter out west who got in a beautiful deaf German Shepherd we got right back to them to let them know that Deaf Dogs Rock was offering a rescue sponsorship for deaf German Shepherd to a reputable 501c3 rescue to help Memphis and we were so happy when the Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of San Diego let us know they had room to take Memphis into their awesome rescue.
Boomer – White Kisses Great Dane Rescue

When we received information regarding deaf Great Dane Boomer who was an owner surrender at the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center in Denton TX we put a rescue plea out with many of our partner rescues. We were so happy to hear from White Kisses Great Dane Rescue and they pulled Boomer to safety.
Bolt – Deaf Dog Rescue of America
When Ashley Jacobs a volunteer from the Kauai HI SPCA in Lihue Hawaii reached out to us looking for help to find a rescue here on the main land for deaf dog Bolt we put them in contact with Lisa with the Deaf Dog Rescue of America in California. Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored Bolt’s air flight as soon as a spot opened up at the Deaf Dog Rescue of America’s rescue ranch. Bolt was flown to CA this week to go to the ranch and start on his journey to find a new forever home. We also sponsored Bolt into the Deaf Dogs Rescue of America so he can be vetted/neutered to get him ready for adoption.
Henry – Bull Terrier Club of America
We got a request to help with a deaf bull terrier at the Euless TX AC so we immediately put out a rescue plea and added a DDR Rocker Puppy sponsorship to a reputable 501c3 rescue to help deaf bull terrier Henry. We are so grateful to the Bull Terrier Club of America Rescue for pulling Henry and getting him to safety.
I want to personally thank every one of our donors who make it possible for us to offer rescue sponsorship to deaf dogs on the Euthanasia lists at kill shelters nationwide. Without your support we would not be able to constantly put out rescue pleas with rescue sponsorships to get each deaf dog to safety. As a wonderful deaf dog community, together we are saving one deaf dog at a time.
Thanks again, Christina, Cornell, Bud, Bowie and Axl Blu
