Update 01/18/25: Sweet Echo has been in boarding for over FOUR years and she really needs a loving forever home where she is the only pet.

Today, we’re making a desperate plea: Echo urgently needs a foster or adopter—her life depends on it.
Echo has spent far too many days behind kennel doors. She once experienced the love of a home during a year-long foster stay, and she blossomed. She showed us what she’s capable of when she’s given the right care, patience, and structure. But since then, life changes have forced her back into boarding, where she’s spent most of the past four years.
Recently, Echo started a trial adoption, but the adopters unfortunately did not follow our guidance, leading to stressful situations for her. This resulted in two incidents where Echo felt the need to protect herself. Now, she’s back in boarding, and we’re running out of options. Boarding is no life for her, and her mental health is deteriorating.
We know Echo’s perfect home is out there, but it will take a special kind of person to give her the chance she so desperately needs. Here’s what Echo needs in her forever home:
No kids, no dogs, no cats. Echo thrives in an environment where she’s the center of attention.
Diligent, patient humans. Echo needs people who will follow our advice, especially when introducing her to new situations or strangers.
Structure and routine. With consistency, Echo shines. She just needs someone willing to give her that stability.
A calm, low-traffic home. Echo does best when she isn’t constantly meeting new people or navigating chaotic environments.
This is Echo’s last chance, and we’re begging for help. She doesn’t deserve to spend her life in a kennel and we are going to have to make a difficult decision if someone hasn’t stepped up in about one month. She deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood. We know she can thrive again—she’s done it before—but she needs the right environment and the right people.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering or adopting, now is the time. By fostering Echo, you’re giving her the opportunity to decompress and feel hope again. By adopting her, you’re giving her the happily-ever-after she’s been waiting for her entire life.
If you can’t foster or adopt, you can still help. Share Echo’s story far and wide. Donate to her care to help us continue providing for her while she waits. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this incredibly difficult time.
Please, let’s not let Echo’s story end here. She’s still waiting for her miracle. Could it be you?

With hope,
MABBR

1/20/22: Meet our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Star of the Week sweet Echo who is an adoptable deaf dog who is looking for a loving home where she will be cherished, be the only pet (center of  your love and attention) and always kept safe.

From her rescue advocate: They named me Echo. Funny name for a deaf dog, right? Being hearing impaired doesn’t stop me from being a happy, outgoing girl. I understand hand signals for sit, stay, down and come but could really benefit from someone who can teach me more ways to help them communicate with me. I catch on pretty quick and always look to my person for guidance.

I absolutely love people and get the wiggles when it’s time for a walk. Despite my challenge, I’m a good girl who always keeps her kennel clean. I’m fond of a good belly crawl in the grass and long walks. I love people so much that I want to keep them for myself. No furry brothers or sisters for me, please. I will settle for nothing less than being the queen of my castle.
