Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of December 2023 to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 23 deaf dogs/pups into rescue this December. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy during the holidays!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person who continues to support Deaf Dogs Rock in the first 11 months of 2023 so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

Thank you also to Lisa Shirley who made a very generous donation to Deaf Dogs Rock in memory of her beloved dog Hope who passed away last year.

Lisa writes: “In memory of Hope: She was always up for an adventure and had a fierce love of soccer balls (see photo above). She also loved chasing squirrels and going on long walk with her humans. We miss her every single day”.

Lisa’s donation will go to sponsor another 10 deaf dogs out of kill shelters into the safe arms of rescue. Our Deaf Dogs Rock Team is so grateful for her kind consideration and support.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $3000 and $5000.00  each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $200-$300 on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page so we can encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial offer of sponsorships these deaf dogs would surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.

Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 23 deaf dogs/pups in December, 2023 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far this year our DDR community has sponsored 197 deaf pups into rescue in all of 2023. So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1528 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 12/31/23).

Ace will be sponsored into Scooby-Doo’s Rescue Mission (for a second time) by Deaf Dogs Rock so he can receive some additional training and care in his new foster home.

Audino  – Animal Friends Alliance – Fort Collings, CO

After Deaf Dogs Rock put up a rescue sponsorship plea for Snow White from Laredo, TX, we were so happy to hear from Amanda Payne, DVM from Animal Friends Alliance in Fort Collins Co who pulled sweet Snow White and had her transported from Laredo TX to Fort Collins, Co. Deaf Dog Audino will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program so that we can help the rescue with her vetting. Dr. Payne reports that Audino is scheduled for her spay surgery and to have a dental done also to remove some damaged teeth. Dr. Payne also works with training the deaf dogs and they have several in their care at Animal Friends Alliance. We are do happy to find another rescue partner that takes on the special needs of deaf dogs and shows others how to navigate the training sharing their deaf dog training videos on-line. You can watch one of the training videos here.

Dina – Speak For The Unspoken Rescue – Ohio

Sweet Deaf Dane Dina lived outside in the cold in a kennel for over four months until Speak For The Unspoken rescued her. Sweet Dina will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue sponsorship program so we can help our friends at Speak For The Unspoken Rescue with some of her vetting expenses.

Ryder – Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona

Thanks to our friends at Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue in Arizona for stepping up to take this 8 week old Aussie puppy from a breeder who realized the puppy was deaf. Little deaf boy Ryder will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship Program to help Amazing Aussies with Ryder’s vetting. We want to thank our friends Vern and Patricia Kerst for donating to DDR in December so we could use their donation to sponsor Ryder into rescue in December. We so appreciate all your hard work and support!

Diamond and her 13 puppies – PAWS RESCUE MD

Above photos are Diamond and her puppies at the St Mary’s Animal Shelter and a photo of Diamond and her puppies leaving the shelter in a crate.

Deaf Dogs Rock was working with a shelter advocate at the St. Mary’s County Animal Shelter in California Maryland who had reached out to us for help with a deaf bully mama who had just giving birth to 13 puppies! Deaf Dogs Rock put up a rescue plea and offered a $800 rescue sponsorship to a reputable foster based 501c3 rescue to step up and pull Diamond, get her into foster care where her babies will have time to grow and match them all with a good loving home with the time comes. Since mama dog is deaf we have no idea how many puppies or if any puppies will be deaf. They won’t show signs of deafness until around 4 weeks of age. We want to thank Kim and Mary Jane Hinds for donating to Deaf Dogs Rock every year so we could sponsor all 13 pups and their mama into rescue. Thanks to PAWS Rescue for pulling Diamond and her puppies into rescue. PAWS Rescue is Puppies Worth Saving Inc. a 501c3 dog rescue based out of Forest Hill Maryland which was great for Diamond since she was being help in a shelter in California Maryland.
