We had Susie Q now named Sydney listed up for adoption at the end of August. Unfortunately the home she was adopted into had some life changes and Sydney needed help ASAP to find a new home or rescue. I sent Sydney’s original owner a message about her being rehomed and she was not able to help Sydney so our deaf dog advocate and friend Kimberly Johnson (who steps up often to help us with young deaf pups in need) offered to help. She made arrangements to get Sydney to her home in Saint Petersburg, FL.
Deaf Dogs Rock offered to sponsor her so she could get spayed as soon as she landed in her foster home. Kimberly works closely with a wonderful rescue called Almost Home Rescue. We normally like to have a rescue involved with any puppies we offer to sponsor so we know right away there will be a rigorous adoption screening process for potential home for Sydney. This way poor Sydney will not keep finding herself in a position where she is getting passed around. Also by getting her spayed right away, we don’t have to worry about Sydney getting pregnant and giving birth to more deaf babies.
Sydney will be in great hands with Kimberly because Kimberly is Deaf and she is an amazing trainer when it comes to teaching the Deaf puppies sign commands and basic puppy manners. Kimberly also works hard on socializing the deaf dogs that come into her home and also getting them used to kids and adults. Sydney has her spay appointment coming up this Thursday and Almost Home will start taking adoption applications on her if you are interested in giving her a loving FOREVER home.
Thanks to Almost Home Rescue, Kimberly Johnson and our Deaf Dogs Rock Community for supporting us so we can help Deaf dogs in need like Sydney.
According to my Deaf dogs Nitro, Bud and myself, you all totally ROCK!
