Puppies, puppies, puppies oh my! What a fun transport we did on Saturday getting these two beautiful deaf Dogo Argentino puppies.
Two weeks ago I received an email message from a Dogo Breeder in Baltimore, MD who had her new litter of Dogo puppies BAER tested (this is a hearing test done on dogs) and two of the puppies tested positive for being deaf. Unfortunately the Veterinarian the breeder used encouraged her to have the two deaf puppies put to sleep because the Vet was of the opinion the two puppies would be a danger to society. Thank goodness the breeder loved her puppies and decided not to listen to her Vet’s advice but instead she contacted us here at Deaf Dogs Rock. I set up a transport team with a wonderful family who had just adopted deaf dog Pearl just last month. The family was only to happy and excited to help.
On Saturday I drove to from Salem, VA to Woodstock,VA to meet Katie, Mike and their kids to pick up the two Dogo puppies and take them back to Angels of Assisi Rescue where they would be put up for adoption. The great thing about using Angels of Assisi rescue is their adoption team will take all the adoption applications and carefully screen all applicants to make sure these puppies have the best chance at growing up and becoming great dogs or as we call them here at DDR, Deaf Dog Ambassadors.
My awesome transport team with Katie Hoheusle, Mike and their kids.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Because of the support we get from our Deaf Dogs Rock Community, we were able to commit to sponsoring these two little pups so we could get them into Angels of Assisi Rescue. Thanks to all of you who support our mission to rescue one deaf dog at a time. Also thanks to Katie and Mike (and their kids) for taking the time to get the puppies and bring them to me in Woodstock, VA. Thanks also to the Angels of Assisi team (Lisa, Bobbie, Chelsea, and Mathew). A big thanks to Shelly the breeder for contacting us so we can find her babies good and loving homes. According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud and myself, you all totally ROCK ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
