Deaf Dogs Rock received an email from Amanda Gilbert with the Lampasas Animal Shelter in Lampasas, Texas the other day. She was extremely concerned about a family of red and blue heeler pups who needed out of their shelter A.S.A.P. Heidi and Henri are the two youngest pups who where originally surrendered with a litter of 9 pups.  In the last few weeks all the hearing ACD puppies have gone to new homes and have been adopted except for the two deaf pups Heidi and Henri. Then there is a blue heeler named Missy who is another one year old ACD. She was also surrendered and she needed a rescue to come and get her out of the shelter as well.

I immediately contacted Rescue Warrior Woman Karla Cagle with iRescue in Weatherford/Killeen TX and Karla immediately jumped into action. She got all three dogs out of the shelter right away but she also discovered Missy’s mama was also at the shelter.  Karla made a commitment to take all four ACD pups who are heading to iRescue in Killeen.  It’s not always easy for a small rescue to take in four Australian Cattle dogs all at the same time but the good news is Karla is an experienced ACD rescuer (and she knows a lot about training and fostering deaf ACD pups).

A big should out and thank you to Amanda Gilbert for being the puppy’s deaf dog ADVOCATE and reaching out to Deaf Dogs Rock so we could jump into gear and help out. Also a big shout out to Rescue Warrior Woman Karla and her team at iRescue for committing to rescue these four dogs. We so appreciate your time and efforts! Thanks also go out to our Deaf Dogs Rock followers who never cease to amaze me with their kindness and generousity when it comes to financially supporting our mission of saving one deaf dog at a time.

According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud, and myself, you all totally ROCK!
