From Molly Schaefer: Our sweet deaf dog Zane has become a therapy dog and he comes to school with me  when I teach.

Zane is a 9-year-old Deaf cattle dog mix. He was rescued from a bad situation in Kentucky and transported to New York State, where he was adopted from Crazy Paws Dog Rescue in Albany.

Zane is an incredible example of resiliency and how accessibility and perseverance can make any environment safe and rewarding for students. His quiet, calm, confident nature helps students to self-regulate in the classroom. He is just starting his journey as a school Therapy Dog and because he is differently abled (being deaf), he shows the kids it is okay to be different.
