There was a little deaf boxer girl at the Baldwin Park Shelter (which is an over crowded shelter in a low income area known for their high kill rate) in Baldwin Park, CA. Several of our DDR followers posted Sugar on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page but every time I checked on the puppy they said they had an adopter lined up so I thought she was safe. I did however send Lisa Tipton (with the Angel Dog Foundation Deaf Dog Ranch in Southern CA) a message that if for any reason the adoption on Sugar falls through, that Deaf Dogs Rock would step up by sponsoring Sugar through Angel Dogs Foundation for a $100 donation to help the sweet puppy with her some of her Vet bills.
The above photo came from the Baldwin Park Shelter FB page.
As you can imagine Lisa Tipton with Angel Dog Foundation is a very busy person because not only does she over see a rescue of over 30+ deaf dogs at the ranch, but she also operates a mobile spay/neuter clinic on top of all her other stuff she has going on. Lisa was so on top of Sugar’s situation and she kept sending the shelter messages that if anything falls through with Sugar’s adoption, she wanted to be in line to do a rescue pull on Sugar. Well sure enough she got the opportunity to pull Sugar to safety.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our Deaf Dogs Rock community we were able to step right up and offer help to Sugar. I know Sugar will be forever grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~ Christina, Nitro and Bud
