Two weeks ago I heard from a young lady who was losing her house and she needed help finding her deaf dog a home. The owner had a beautiful white pit bull named Marley and stated she was moving into an apartment which would not allow larger dogs like her deaf dog Marley. We shared the photos of Marley on our
Deaf Dogs Rock FB Wall and Rescue Warrior Julie Fennell decided to step in and help Marley out. The first message I got from Julie stated that the previous owner was dropping off Marley with Julie and then she planned on taking her to a low cost clinic and having a Heartworm test performed. Julie took her to the clinic the following morning and had the Heartworm test performed. The GREAT news we received was the HW Test negative which was a miracle for a deaf dog with no shots living outside.
I still am always amazed at anyone who would have a deaf dog and then leave the dog outside. They are such velcro dogs and they really need to be with their humans so I knew if we could sponsor Marley maybe she would go to a home where someone would welcome her into the family. She might be able to live inside with her new family. Since Marley was also un-spayed and she had never had any of her routine shots, Deaf Dogs Rock offered a $150.00 sponsorship fee that would go to the rescue who would get Marley into rescue and get her shots and spaying done. We offered this service to not only help Marley out but to also help Julie find a reputable rescue with a solid foster program.

Marley’s foster to her to a 4th of July Parade and a couple at the Parade fell head over heals in love with her so now she has her new home. Wow all this happened in a span of less then two weeks! Great work everyone. Thanks Julie for stepping in and being Marley’s advocate and thanks to Amanda for contacting us and help us with the payment process.
