I received a plea from Kristy Bentley who had a 7 month old Australian Cattle Dog puppy. The pup named Molly now called Jeorgia was an owner surrender to the Jessamine County Animal Care and Control in Nicholasville, KY. Kristy was wondering if we had any rescue contacts who could take the sweet ACD. I reached out to Rescue Warrior woman Victoria Corbett with Speak for The Unspoken Rescue in Grove City, Ohio to see if she has room in her rescue for a sweet deaf Cattle Dog Puppy. Deaf Dogs Rock offered to sponsor Jeorgia into rescue so she can get what she needs to be available for adoption soon.
Victoria responded to Kristy at the shelter right away and as luck would have it, Victoria was going to be right up the road from the Kentucky shelter on Saturday so Victoria agreed to take Jeorgia into her rescue. Victoria was going to be near by the shelter because she had scheduled a home visit and meeting with a potential adoptive family for another dog at her rescue. As luck would have it, Jeorgia was just up the road and everything worked out perfectly. I did get a message after Victoria picked up Jeorgia from the shelter. She wrote “Jeorgia is a total sweet heart” so I am beyond thrilled she was rescued by such a great organization!
