Sometimes we get so darned busy around the Deaf Dogs Rock Headquarters, we forget to stop and take a look at all the wonderful things we have accomplished over the past year.  When I started updating our blog posts this week, I was shocked once I finished counting how many deaf pups DDR has sponsored into rescue and how many deaf dogs were adopted off our Adoptable Deaf Dogs section on our website in 2014. Our Deaf Dogs Rock Adoptable Dogs section averages 15-20 Deaf dogs a month being adopted to their forever homes (which is over 150 deaf dogs a year)! WOW! What an amazing year 2014 was! Because of all of our wonderful rescue warriors, and the amazing support Deaf Dogs Rock received from our Deaf Dogs Rock community, we also participated in sponsoring more than 45 deaf dogs/puppies into the safety of reputable rescues throughout the country. We could not have achieved this success without the help and generousity of ALL of you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is Ryland the puppy we met at the RCACP the day we were delivering treats to the five of our local shelters for the holidays. Ryland is much smaller than he appears in photos. Deaf Dogs Rock picked up Ryland from the Roanoke pound and helped get him transported to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, Virginia. Deaf Dogs Rock sent Green Dogs Unleashed sponsorship for both Ryland and deaf Aussie Bailey and we included a big shipment of Winter dog blankets to help all the rescue dogs at Green Dogs Unleashed stay warm for the rest of the Winter. Here in Virginia it does get brutally cold in January and February and many of the deaf dogs are white with very short coats. If you are interested in knowing more on how you can adopt Ryland, click here to view his DDR Adoption Listing.

Meet Rocker Dog Bailey!

I received an email from Lynn Broadway from the Yancy Humane Society in Burnsville NC about a 10 month old Australian Cattle dog who needed a rescue. We listed him on our Deaf Dogs Rock Facebook page and our friend Erika Proctor with Green Dogs Unleashed took interest and she had Bailey transported to Virginia into Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue. Update 2-03-2015: Bailey was ADOPTED last weekend!

Meet Rescue Dog Liberty

This beautiful Doberman was at the RCACP so it was inportant to offer a sponsorship to help with any costs for this dog to go to a local shelter.  We were so happy when Anita Scott from the Franklin County Humane Society contacted Deaf Dogs Rock to let us know they were going to pull this baby. They named the sweet Dobbie Liberty! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored this sweet dog so the pup can get spay/neutered and up to date on shots.

 Meet Kalypso!

kaWe just sponsored Kalpyso this morning from the Mercer County Animal Shelter to go into rescue at Speak For The Unspoken Rescue in Ohio. Thanks Victoria Corbett for agreeing to help Deaf dog Kalpyso and also for being an amazing Rescue Warrior Woman when it comes to helping special needs dogs find their forever homes. According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud and myself, you and the entire Speak for the Unspoken rescue team totally ROCKS!

We are very excited to see what this year has in store for us!

Thanks to our readers, followers, deaf dog owners for your kind consideration and support to help Deaf Dogs Rock save ONE Deaf dog at a time!
