Hello. My name is Dakota. I’m 4 years old and I am looking for my forever home and I hope you can help me. My life had a pretty tough start, especially being deaf. I was not taken care of and mistreated because of my deafness. I was even shot and still have some metal inside me.

A nice rescue group saved me and nursed me back to health and have taken care of me and are helping me find my forever home. I have worked with a nice trainer who has helped me with my manners and taught me hand signals and helped me to trust again. Men scare me sometimes. I have been in a foster home since some surgery and am lucky enough to have 2 foster Moms. I have a canine foster sister and I’m very respectful of her. She thinks I’m a pesky little brother.

I’ve never had an accident in the house or torn-up anything at all and I’m happy in my crate. I love leash-walks, riding in the car & pickup truck and lying in the sun. I have interacted with my neighbors and even go shopping sometimes. I have had limited interactions with other dogs but I really do want to play. I’ve met some children too.

I would love to find someone to keep me active and continue to teach me and to keep me safe and who will give me time to learn & adjust and be the best pet I can be. I am a bit of a couch-hog but I love to snuggle and will stay close as long as you want. I really love being with my people. If you think I’m the guy for you, please contact my rescue. They have lots of great pictures & videos of me they can share with you and my foster Moms will be happy to talk with you if you have any questions. Hope to see you soon! Thank you.
