We are blessed to have Cricket rescued  and being fostered by our friend Kimberly Johnson in Florida. We are so lucky we got this girl out of harms way!

We had a great plan in place to get Cricket to rescue but her owners decided to give her to a family member. I sent them an email letting them know giving a deaf boxer puppy at the last minute to a family member was a really bad idea. I told them in most cases when this happens the poor deaf puppy ends up in shelter. This pup has separation anxiety and would be the first to be put to sleep if she made it to a shelter.

The previous owners replied to my email thanking me for my concern but decided they would give the puppy to a relative. Well long story short the Mom who they gave their six month old puppy to did not even last 24 hours with the pup so what does she do? She gave the puppy away to a complete stranger instead of contacting us (even though I was clear about if it did not work out to contact myself or our foster Kimberly). Wow just wow there are no words!

Thank God Susan Skinner the woman who took the puppy had the good sense to contact the original owners (the folks who passed the puppy off on their mother), and get the contact name for the person we had lined up to foster the puppy. You see the lady who took Cricket realized she did not know enough about training a deaf dog and she also had a family emergency where she had to leave town. I do believe God has a plan of working things out in the long run. I received a text from our friend Kimberly who is going to foster Cricket that she was in contact with the woman (who has the pup now) and they are meeting later today so Cricket can be officially be sponsored into rescue by Deaf Dogs Rock. We are so blessed to have an amazing volunteer/foster such as Kimberly Johnson! She will train and foster Cricket.

Poor Cricket, even though she is going to her 4th home in three nights we will make sure she gets the training and help she needs to go to a loving home with someone who will be her advocate instead of someone like the family she had before. Welcome to rescue Cricket and welcome to our Deaf Dogs Rock Community!

A big shout out and thank you so much to Susan Skinner the woman who ended up with Cricket and contacted Kimberly to get her to safety. Also thanks to Kimberly for agreeing to foster Cricket and to Almost Home Florida Rescue for taking her into their rescue and letting Deaf Dogs Rock sponsor her into rescue. We have a Tribe of Rocking Rescue Warrior Women! You all ROCK!
