Meet adoptable deaf /visually impaired Aussie shepherd mix Cotton who is looking for a loving forever home where she will be cherished and always kept safe.

From her rescue advocate: This is Cotton!

Cotton is a 2-year-old spayed female Aussie mix. Cotton and her sister’s were pulled off the streets of Houston TX when they were just a few days old. After spending a year in TX in a boarding facility, Cotton made her way to Cedar Rapids, IA.

Cotton is spayed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on preventatives. She is crate and leash trained. Cotton would do best in a home with other dogs, but could do without cats or dog savvy cats. She does have a natural herding drive. Cotton is double Merle meaning she is both deaf, and visually impiared. She can see about 30% out of her left eye. This has caused some reactivity to meeting new people. Cotton is nervous with all new people. If interested in meeting Cotton, please reach out directly to Hero’s Haven Animal Rescue of Iowa.

Cotton is amazing with all dogs, I don’t think there is a dog she has ever disliked. She does good with her current foster’s cats but they are very dog savvy and she will occasionally nip at them. Cotton is currently working with her foster and a trainer to build her confidence with new people. She deserves a wonderful life.
