Our Deaf Dogs Rock crew had so much fun last weekend at the PetEx Pet Expo at Roanoke Civic Center. We had a lot of deaf dog owners and their dogs stop by to say hi and purchase raffle tickets for their chance to win a Bostonista Bed By Zoey Ultimate Prize Pack. We had so much fun!
On Saturday afternoon Chris, Bud, Nitro and I got a big surprise. A young man named Connor Jones came by and donated all of his proceeds to Deaf Dogs Rock from his his Pet Expo booth called Connor’s Art for Charity. You see Connor is a young Artist and philanthropist who sells hand sketched drawings to raise money for different animal organizations and charities.

Connor is only 9 years old! For such a young man he not only is very talented but he also has a servants heart by giving of his time and talents to help rescue and shelter animals such as deaf dogs in shelters across our country. The one thing I will take away from this year’s PetEx Expo is a fond memory of meeting this extraordinary young man named Connor. It gives me great hope to know there are still a few young people out there like Connor fighting the good fight for animals. Connor in his very own way is the voice of the voiceless.
Thank you so much Connor Jones (and the Jones Family). According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud, and all of us Rockers in the Deaf Dogs Rock Community, you totally ROCK dude!
Update 5-1-2014: Just this week we have offered sponsorships of two deaf dogs in need of rescue. One of the dogs is right here in the Valley. We have offered the sponsorship and we are currently waiting to see which rescues have room to take in a 5 month old deaf puppy.
Thanks again to the Jones Family. ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
