Meet adoptable deaf, one year old, Dogo Argentino Connie who is looking for a very special home with someone who will cherish her, give her a structured routine, make daily positive reinforcement sign training/enrichment a priority and always keep her safe.
From her advocate:
After spending more than 60 days in the shelter system, this 80-pound bundle of joy is looking for a home to call her own!
Connie has quite a tragic background, initially coming to us covered in blood and a massive gash on her forehead after being found in a quarry. She was nervous and unsure, rightfully so – but from the start, we knew she was something special.
Connie is a volunteer favorite at our facility! She is incredibly sweet, loyal, and charming. She is a playful and affectionate pup with a love for rough-and-rowdy play! She thrives in high-energy playgroups and enjoys chase games with dogs who match her enthusiasm. Her energy can sometimes be overwhelming, but she responds well to breaks and settles quickly. She may struggle to read their cues with calmer or older dogs and needs guidance to respect boundaries. We recently discovered that she is hearing-impaired, which explains why she has issues understanding verbal corrections from other dogs. Connie is friendly and eager for affection, often jumping in her kennel to say hello. She’s still working on her confidence—hesitant about car rides but happy to explore on foot.
