Meet adoptable deaf girl Chicago who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish her, make her a member of their family and always keep her safe.
From her caregiver: Her ears may just be for looks, but don’t let that deter you. Chicago is as sweet as they come. This pretty girl loves to cuddle and has such a silly personality. Chicago isn’t much of a fetch kind of dog, she will chase a toy when thrown, but won’t bring it back. Although she does love to play tug of war, AND she chases leaves in the wind (it’s absolutely adorable). This cute white thing isn’t fond of her face being touched, but she loves a good body rub down and butt scratch.
Chicago is good with other big dogs and is very playful. She may do best in a home without elderly dogs. She loves people and has been good with everyone she has met in her foster home. She has not been around many kids in the foster home, but the ones she has met she had done very well with. If you have children we can better assess her around them.
This gorgeous girl is deaf and has some allergies, but it is nothing too major. She will need an owner willing to learn about deaf dogs, and she will need to be fed a grain free food. She became deaf due to untreated ear infections most likely caused by allergies that were ignored.
Chicago does have some separation anxiety, and can get a bit loud when she is left alone, we are working on this, but her new home will need to be willing to continue to work in this. Because she is deaf she doesn’t hear herself and can make some pretty scary sounds, don’t be alarmed if she does this.
This amazing girl is house and crate trained, she does well on a leash and is learning her basic commands. She is still learning how to be calm and respectful in the house. She comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and evaluated with a professional trainer.
