Meet adoptable deaf, 5 year old Australian Shepherd Charlee who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her and have her be the only pet in the home.

From her foster advocate: Hello, Charlee is looking for her forever home or a foster as soon as possible. She is located in the Saint Louis area.

Charlee is an (almost) five year old Australian shepherd. She is deaf but the smartest dog. She knows sit, lay, spin, roll over, and high five with each paws with hand commands.

The challenge is that Charlee prefers to be the queen of her castle and does not do well with other dogs in her home. At foster events and walking with brief encounters she has done great. She just doesn’t want to share her food and human all the time. She lives for tug of war and walks/jogs great on leash. She is not destructive of home items and does well while I am at work for 6-8 hours. For my 12 hour shifts I have a dog walker come mid day.
On my days off she enjoys walks in the park and loves car rides!

I have been fostering sweet Charlee since the end of January and I can say that she has thrived with being the only dog in my home and her anxiety has leaps and bounds improved. She really is Velcro and LOVES booty scratches and a good ear and back massage. Unfortunately, I will be leaving the country and when returning have uncertain plans of where I will be located. I knew eventually I’d have to help Charlee find something else but am grateful to have given her a backyard and a foster home to herself for the last several months.

Bonus—she isn’t afraid of the vacuum, storms, or hairdryers because her ears are just perfect accessories (also velvet soft). She also loves bath time!

I have attached her link for adoption and to the organization page. Please pm me if you are interested and have further questions or let me know if you submit an application—- I am fairly certain the organization will assist with transport if you are not in the area.

Thank you!
