Catalina is a deaf 7-month-old deaf Australian Cattle Dog puppy who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, make daily positive reinforcement sign training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep her safe.
From her shelter advocate: Catalina is full of personality, intelligence, and puppy enthusiasm. Being deaf does not slow this girl down — she is social, energetic, and eager to connect with her people.
Like many Cattle Dogs, Catalina is smart, driven, and thrives with structure, enrichment, and a job to do. Because of her hearing impairment, she will need a home or rescue placement that understands deaf dogs and is comfortable using visual communication, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement to help her continue building confidence.
Catalina is looking for someone who sees her potential and understands that being deaf doesn’t make her less deserving — it just means she needs a little extra understanding and the right environment to thrive.
Catalina is: spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccines/preventatives, she is 7 months old, she is deaf, she is social and people oriented, intelligent and eager to learn new sign cues and boundaries. She is a typical cattle dog puppy who has lots of puppy energy and who will bond closely with her new humans. She also appears to be house/potty trained.
Our shelter team would love to find a rescue partner or an experienced deaf heeler home who has experience with deaf dogs or special needs animals and can help Catalina find the forever home that will appreciate everything that makes her unique.
