Meet adoptable deaf Sheltie puppy Cash who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, give him a structured daily routine, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.

From his caregiver: Cash is a beautiful Sable Merle Sheltie boy. He is as sweet as he can be but he can also be feisty. If he needs anything at all whether it’s to get out of his sleeping area or to go potty or if he wants anything he can get very loud by screaming and howling until you come and take care of his needs. He absolutely loves to give kisses. He has one bright blue eye that is just gorgeous.

**Note from Christina from DDR about screaming deaf puppies- it is very important not to come when a deaf puppy screams often but to instead to come when the puppy is not barking or screaming. We even practice walking away if a deaf puppy screams or demand barks so the puppy learns that this is not the puppy training the humane but the humane training the puppy by providing emotional and physical boundaries. My 20 week old puppy screamed a lot when she first got her but she has learned when she is silent I will come an get her out of her crate, but if she is screaming I will not get her out of her crate. Also by always being available to your deaf puppy every time it screams, in most cases this will eventually lead to separation anxiety which can be a life long issue.

Cash’s adoption fee is $400 to a screened and approved home only and you must live within 3 hour driving distance of Loganville, GA to meet Cash in person. If you can make a lifetime commitment to Cash (including daily training/socialization/enrichment and getting him neutered when the time comes), please email MaryAnn for more information at Maryann33172@gmail.com
