Meet adoptable deaf one year old Butterscotch who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, become her new best friend, make her a member of the family and always keep her safe.
From her rescue advocate: Butterscotch is a 1-year-old female mixed breed with a big personality, a bigger heart, and a whole lot of love to give. Weighing about 45 lbs, this happy-go-lucky girl is deaf.
Butterscotch is potty trained and crate trained, knows the commands wait and focus, and is learning hand signals quickly. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys leisurely strolls, chewing on a good bone, and playing with her foster siblings—both human and canine. She truly loves kids, though she sometimes needs reminders to keep all four paws on the ground and stay calm.
She does well with other dogs and must have another dog in the home—ideally a confident, well-balanced dog who can help set boundaries during playtime. Her best friend is her Aussie foster sister, and she thrives with dogs that match her energy but know when playtime is over. She can also live with cats who set clear boundaries, though she may try to initiate play.
Butterscotch had a rough start, spending over half her young life in a windowless shelter. Because of this, she may take a couple of weeks to fully settle into a new environment. She is currently on anxiety medication to help her process new experiences and manage overstimulation; with patience and consistency, she may eventually be weaned off. She is fearless, smart, and eager to learn—just still working on her manners.

Sweet deaf girl Butterscotch is high energy and playful. She will require another dog in her new home.
She needs a 6-ft fenced yard which is preferred (she can clear a 4-ft fence and has escaped kennels)
Butterscotch does best with people who are home often and committed to continued her positive reinforcement training/enrichment/socialization.
Butterscotch is crate trained, though she may vocalize at first but then she does settle down.
