Meet adoptable deaf/vision impaired, 14 month old, Great Dane/pit mix puppy Boone who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement touch training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe. Boone needs a person or family to adopt him into a loving family that will have him live inside as a family member but give him access to a secure fenced in yard to keep him safe where he can romp and play.

From his rescue advocate: Who is looking for a special boy?

So here is their info. His date of birth is 1/8/23. He is a Great Dane Pit mix (we were told).  Boone is deaf (he does seem to be able to hear higher pitched sounds) and may be able to see shadows. He is mostly independent. He is very loving and good with other dogs. He would do well in a loving home with kids 12+.  We are still working on manners and potty training. He is fully vetted, on HW preventions and will he will be micro-chipped.

He will require a physically fenced yard for his safety (no exceptions) but we also want him to live inside to be a full member of the family but have access to a secure fenced in yard. We expect he will be large sized when full grown.

Boone is an independent fellow with a sweet, laid back personality.  He can hear sounds that are higher pitched and does have some vision.  He can navigate around his foster house, deck and yard.  He uses the doggy door to access the yard to go potty.  He is fully vetted, would guess him to be 60-70 lbs and is other dog friendly.  Cats unknown.

Please don’t apply for this pup out of sympathy. He doesn’t know that he is “special” and he wants a family who can provide him the care, love and training that he will need going forward. This will require work and effort on the part of his family, but these kinds of dogs can make the best family members, and we hope there is a family (or two), who will give these brothers a chance to have their happy ever after.

Boone’s adoption fee is $100 and he is located in Cookeville, TN. If you think you are the right family for him (or his brother Kingsley), please fill out the application on our website www.safehaventn.com. This dog is not available for transport, you must come to TN to pick him up.
