Meet adoptable deaf 1.5 year old Bert who is currently looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, take him on fun adventures, teach him new sign cues and always keep him safe. Bert would love to have a big secured fenced in yard to run and play in safely. He is house trained, neutered, good with respectful children (cats unknown). He would make a great companion.
From Bert’s advocate:
My name is Hannah Galli. Last year my brother and I began our search to get my Dad a dog for companionship and security. My Dad was wounded in Vietnam and is completely deaf in his left ear from a bullet wound. My Dad is now 74 and can barely hear out of his right ear. We needed a dog to be his ears for safety at his home.
An acquaintance of mine purchased a border collie and after a week decided he couldn’t manage the dog. My brother and I decided to purchase the dog from him.
Photo above is from when Bert was a puppy.
After about a week or so of Bert being at my Dad’s we figured out that Bert cannot hear.
This creates a larger issue in our situation for my Dad as my Dad needs a set of ears to help with his disability. And Bert deserves someone who can really navigate his disability.
Bert is so sweet and loving. He loves to play fetch, go for walks, watch the squirrels and gets lots of scratches. He loves car rides and being in the passenger seat. He’s very friendly with people. He has a sweet soul.
Bert’s adoption fee is $250.00 to a screened and approved home only and you must live within 3 hour drive of Tracy, CA to be considered for adoption. If you can meet those requirements please email Hannah so she can send you a blank adoption application to fill out (to be screened) at: hannahmccall@att.net
