Meet adoptable deaf five year old Catahoula Leopard dog Beaumont who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.
From his caregiver: Beaumont is a Merle , five year old boy. We adopted this sweet boy when he was about 7 months from our local shelter. He is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met and only wants cuddles and love from you. Like many shelter dogs he has some special needs and suffered from separation anxiety when we first brought him home. Since we’ve had him he has been crate trained and takes anxiety medication and does not suffer from separation anxiety like he used to. However, he could regress and may need some extra attention during this transition. He also has a very high prey drive and cannot be near other small animals or cats. This behavior is why we had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him as he is showing similar behavior towards our newborn. While he would probably do best as a single dog, with the right introduction, he would be happy in a home with female dogs or puppies but not other male dogs. He also has experience with and loves children but should not be in a home with babies.
Beaumont’s adoption fee is $150 to a screened and approved home. You also must live within a three hour drive of Gainesville, Florida to be considered for adoption. If you are interested in adopting Beaumont, please email Alana at: alananhord@gmail.com
