Many of the reasons to support our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Deaf Shelter Dog program is because this program gives deaf puppies/deaf shelter dogs the best chance at being set up for success to become wonderful companion animals, family pets, therapy dogs, and in some cases Emotional Support dogs. When you donate to Deaf Dogs Rock, all proceeds raised go towards sponsoring deaf puppies and deaf dogs into our partner rescues where each deafie goes into a very experienced foster home.
After each deaf pup is settled into their new foster home (and getting used to a structured routine), they are crate trained, potty trained, start their ASL sign command training and also are taken out into the public to be socialized in all kinds of environments. Because of the donations we received from our generous supporters so far this year, Deaf Dogs Rock was able to sponsor another 17 deaf dogs into rescue (two were medical sponsorships) in the month of August 2017. As of 8/31/17, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 109 deaf dogs/puppies into rescue so each deaf canine can start on their journeys to receive a strong training foundation and find a loving family who will be committed to the deaf dog’s training to help each dog become the very best he can be.
Thank you so much for continued support to our Deaf Dogs Rock mission to help one deaf dog at a time and also to bring awareness to the world to how much deaf dogs rock.

Below are our August 2017 sponsored deaf dogs.
Nix – Poet’s Vision Rescue
Zuri – Poet’s Vision
When we got word Poet’s Vision had room for two deaf dogs we were happy to sponsor both Nix and Zuri into Rescue. We have worked with Poet’s Vision Rescue in Perth Ontario for over five years and Tanya and her team do a wonderful job through rescue, foster care, training, and screening new homes for their deaf rescue dogs. Poet’s Vision is the only Canadian rescue we work with because they are a special needs rescue who specializes in deaf and deaf/blind dogs (and some with neurological disorders).
Angels of Assisi – 4 deaf dogs
Locally our partner rescue Angels of Assisi Rescue took in 58 dogs from a Patrick County hoarding case. Most of the dogs that came in had mange, were pretty fearful and four are completely deaf. They have a long road of recovery including socialization so we wanted to make sure to sponsor all four deaf dogs at Angels of Assisi so their needs could be taken care of. Pictured above is Mathew excepting our Deaf Dogs Rock sponsorship check for four dogs and introducing each dog to us when we went to visit.
Chance – GDU
Chance is the second dalmatian puppy we have networked and sponsored directly into our partner rescue Green Dogs Unleashed here in Troy, VA. Erika the director is fostering the first dalmatian puppy Everest and Chance went into a great foster home and started training right away.
Ruby – Great Lakes Boxer Rescue
Left (Ruby’s shelter photo), Right: Ruby’s freedom photo. Thanks to Great Lakes Boxer Rescue for pulling Ruby on our DDR 6th Anniversary. Ruby is a 8.5 year old deaf boxer girl who found herself at a shelter. Thanks to Carly and Shelly for making sure she got into rescue/foster care and also keeping us here at Deaf Dogs Rock in the loop.
The deaf dalmatian mix puppy (Big Spring TX shelter) we were networking to rescues was pulled by Heidi’s Legacy Rescue and the puppy broke out with Parvo. We did sent them a medical sponsorship of $150.00 to help with her vetting which can be very expensive when a puppy has Parvo.
Deaf Puppies in Modesto
When we got word of three deaf puppies in need of rescue in Modesto we reached out to the Lisa with the Deaf Dog Rescue of America to see if she could make room for these three deaf aussie pups. The pups arrived this past weekend and are doing well. If your interested in adopting one of the aussie pups contact the Deaf Dog Rescue of America by clicking here.
Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored these two pups into iRescue. Thanks Karla for getting them to safety out of the horrible situation they were in. Now they can start learning what it is like to live inside a house, become house trained and start learning some of their sign and touch commands.
Winter
Winter finally arrived to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, VA. What a doll baby. This deaf aussie pup will be available for adoption at Green Dogs Unleashed soon.
Weston
Weston’s family could not keep him because they had issues with their landlord so Weston was brought to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy VA from Columbus, GA with the help of Highway Heroes Transport Team. We are glad Sarah, Weston’s caregiver reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock instead of taking Weston to a kill shelter. Also thanks to Erika with GDU for jumping up and getting Weston to Virginia on such short notice. Weston needs to settle in to his new foster home before he is available for adoption so they can do a proper evaluation of his needs.
Baby girl
On August 30, The Amazing Ausses Lethal White Rescue pulled a 4 month old scared, tick infested possibly blind baby girl. She is a tiny girl at only 10 pounds and she needed immediate veterinary care due to the ticks and fleas she was infested with. She will also need a special diet with additional nutrients and blood tests to make sure she doesn’t have any tick diseases. Deaf Dogs Rock donated $150 for a medical sponsorship for this sweet girl.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving us the financial support so we can help the deaf dogs and puppies you see above. We are their voice!
