The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.

We work with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our program to make sure each deaf dog/puppy gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and are here to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicants veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf dog/puppy is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home.

It is our number one mission to make sure each deaf dog and puppy gets basic training, socialization. are in a loving and caring foster home where their confidence soars. Our partners set each deaf dog up for success. Jan – August 2019, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored a total of 83 deaf dogs and puppies into have been sponsored into rescue so far this year.

In August 2019, our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 12 deaf dogs into the safe harbor of rescue so they can start on their new journey to finding their forever homes. Thank you to all of you who continue to support Deaf Dogs Rock by donating, hosting fundraisers and spreading the word to family and friends on how awesome deaf dogs can be.

For the past five years Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 608 deaf dogs/puppies (as of 8/31/19) into rescue and we could not have done it without the full support of our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community so thank you, thank you, thank you for the bottom of our hearts! ~ Christina Lee and the entire DDR team

Casper finds rescue aka Cannon Annie – Pinkerton’s Haven All Animal Rescue

We heard from Medina Franco the ACO officer for the city of Mangum OK letting us know they had a young deaf pittie that needed rescue so we put out a rescue sponsorship offer in hopes a rescue would take sweet Casper. We always appreciate shelters and AC officers reaching out to us to give us a chance to put out a rescue sponsorship offer in hopes of saving a deaf dog from automatically being put to sleep. Casper now named Cannon Annie was rescued by Pinkerton’s Haven All Animal Rescue and we are so thankful they helped Cannon Annie. She is now learning basic manners and new sign cues every single day. Thanks to Krystal with Pinkerton’s Haven for stepping up and helping Annie. We appreciate your efforts. Annie will be sponsored by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship Program. Touchdown (previously Boomer) –  Austin Boxer Rescue

We put a rescue plea out for deaf boxer Boomer when we got word from our deaf dog advocates in Katy, Texas that Boomer’s owner had passed away. We were so excited to hear the Austin Boxer Rescue stepped up to go get Boomer and get him into rescue. This handsome Rocker Puppy will be sponsored by Deaf Dogs Rock through Nitro’s Fund which is a small fund set up to help sponsor deaf boxers like our Nitro to help them make it into rescue. Thanks to our friends in Katy TX (Caroline) and to the Austin Boxer Rescue for stepping up and helping Boomer. You all rock!

Thanks so much to all of our Deaf Dogs Rock community for allowing us to continue to sponsor deaf dogs in need. Some of these dogs are in peril and many times only have several hours to live before their time is up. We are constantly behind the scenes scrambling by sending out urgent messages to all of our partner organizations throughout the U.S. trying our best to make that connection with an organization who can help (many times on very short notice). We also are very grateful and appreciate all the efforts of the transport volunteers, the foster volunteers, veterinarians who give of their time, and the directors who help us help them every single day. We couldn’t do it without you!

We also want to give a huge shout out and thank you to every single person who hosts a Deaf Dogs Rock fundraiser or sends in a donation so we can continue this important work. According to our Deaf Dogs Rock Executive team (deaf dogs Bud, Bowie, Cornell and Axl), you all totally rock! We are sending much love and light your way! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
