Meet adoptable deaf 7 month old bully mix August who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.

From his current caregiver: It breaks our hearts to have to do this but it’s what’s best for our beloved boy. August is a 45 lb, 7 month old Bully breed pup. He was born deaf.

Originally we saw an add for a puppy and decided to go check it out. Once we got there the “breeder” met us outside holding 2 puppies, even though we only inquired about the one. She stated she was in a tough bind and offered August for free saying she didn’t know what she would do with him if we didn’t take him. We couldn’t leave him there after she said that. We had no idea he was deaf. But it doesn’t stop him! He’s the sweetest most cuddly boy there ever was. He’s also so very smart! He knows how to sit, wait, no bark and kennel in sign language.

August does well on walks with his no pull harness.
The only reason we are rehoming our sweet boy is because he has been fighting with brother. Unfortunately they are suffering from “litter mate syndrome”. We have tried very hard to keep him in our family but it’s not what’s best for him anymore. Adding the boys to our family made for a total of 4 dogs and August has never had a problem with our two older girls. We also have cats and he’s been fine with them but does show a little prey drive towards them. He does well around dogs he knows (other than his brother at the moment) but it takes him a sec to warm up to new dogs. He is up to date on all his shots and is neutered.
