It takes a thoughtful and giving tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf shelter dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships.  If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

If you would like to donate in honor of a person, your deaf dog or in memory of one of your pets, you can send us a photo for our Honor/Memory Wall and donate here.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $250-$300 on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page so we can encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each dog’s vetting expenses, may of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.

Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 9 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in August, 2025 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy.  In 2024 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 149 deaf pups into the safe arms of rescue. So far this year 2025, our Deaf Dogs Rock community has helped to sponsor another 97 deaf pups/dogs into rescue since 1/1/2025.  So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1774 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 8/31/25).

Our August 2025 DDR Rescue Sponsorship Recaps are below:

These two needed help from Speak For The Unspoken. They are two in a litter of six that are deaf. We sponsored both pups into Speak For The Unspoken so they can use those funds for their vetting and some help with transportation costs to get the pups safely to Speak in Grove City Ohio.

3 Deaf Aussie pups Ricky, Kylie and Randy – Speak For The Unspoken Rescue Ohio

Above photo: Ricky, Kylie and Randy’s freedom ride photos. Thanks to our friends at Speak For The Unspoken on picking these three up on such short notice (you all rock).

When we received three courtesy adoption listings for three very young deaf Australian Shepherd pups in Ohio, we gave the lister another option and that was to consider letting these three little ones go into a special needs rescue and we also offered them financial sponsorship through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy-Dog Rescue Sponsorship program. The new pups are now named Ivory, Finnian and Gavin. We are so fortunate that the owner of these pups saw the value in sending them to a special needs rescue called Speak For The Unspoken Rescue in Grove City, Ohio. All three puppies arrived to the rescue on 8/11/25.

Mercy – Angel Eyes Sanctuary – Huson MT

When a shelter advocate for deaf Aussie Mercy (from Solano County Animal Shelter in Fairfield, CA) contacted Deaf Dogs Rock for help networking Mercy to try to find him rescue we were happy to help out. We immediately put together a special DDR FB post and also added an offer of rescue sponsorship through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program. On the very day we posted, Angel Eyes Sanctuary out of Huson, MT stepped up and tagged Mercy. Not only did they tag him but the boarded a flight and headed from MT to CA to transport him back to the wonderful their wonderful sanctuary in Montana. We want to be sure to thank our friends Vern and Pat K. on donating and covering sweet Mercy’s rescue sponsorship. Mercy has settled in nicely at the sanctuary (see the updated post above) and his new name is Ira.

Spots and Patches – Double J Dog Ranch – Idaho

Thanks to Justin in Idaho for reaching out to Deaf Dogs Rock because he needed help with his two deaf Aussie pups. We were able to reach out to our friend in Idaho at the Double J Dog Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary to see if they would have room for deaf puppies Spots and Patches. Cris with Double J got right back with us and let us know they did have room for both puppies and they coordinated with Justin to get both deaf pups safely to the rescue. Spots and Patches will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship fund to help Double J with their vetting expenses to get them prepared for adoption in the near future.

Elmer – Perfect Imperfections Rescue – CT

Sweet Elmer was found roaming as a stray. He is deaf and visually impaired and he embarked upon two plane rides to get to our friends at Perfect Imperfections Rescue in CT where now he will be in great hands. Elmer is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy-Dog Rescue Sponsorship program where we send in sponsorship funds to the rescue to help with his vetting and care expenses.

Thank you so much to our very kind and generous community members who find the resources to send it for us to continue to sponsor the most vulnerable deaf shelter dogs and puppies into the safe arms of rescue. Without your financial support, we would not do what we do every month. All the deaf dogs above are so grateful for your kindness. Thanks again, ~ Christina Lee – DDR
