Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of August 2023 to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 19 deaf dogs/pups into rescue this August. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy in the middle of a hot summer!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person who continues to support Deaf Dogs Rock in the first 8 months of 2023 so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $3000 and $5000.00  each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $200-$300 on almost every rescue plea post we put up to encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial offer of sponsorships these deaf dogs would surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partners set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered be before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 19 deaf dogs/pups in August, 2023 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in this year our DDR community has sponsored 136 deaf pups into rescue in the first eight months of 2023. So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1467 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 8/31/23).

August 2023 Sponsorship Recaps are below:

Rooster – Perfection Imperfections Rescue – CT

Our friends at Perfect Imperfection Rescue in CT took in 2 year old deaf Aussie Rooster. Rooster was very excited when he got to rescue and he had a blast playing with all the other dogs. He loves other dogs! Once Trisha with the rescue and her team get to know Rooster better he will be available for adoption in the near future. In the mean time, Rooster will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog-Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help PI Rescue with some of Rooster’s vetting expenses.

Roy – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – VA

Sweet deaf Border Collie Roy made it all the way from Vermont to Virginia where he will begin his journey with our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed. Roy will go into foster care, attend weekly puppy classes so he can have a great training foundation and in the near future be matched with a loving home with someone who is familiar with the breed and can help Roy be the best he can be. Roy is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship to help the rescue with his vetting and care expenses while he is with the GDU organization.

Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – Sherlock

Above: When a person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock about rehoming a deaf Chi mix named Sherlock, we sent them info on our Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program and offered a rescue sponsorship for Sherlock to ensure he went to the right place. Our friends at Speak St. Louis Rescue and Sanctuary made room for this little guy and he is now in foster care. He will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help the rescue with some of the costs of  his care and vetting.

Minnie, Rocket and Chelsea – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary St Louis

Above: Minnie came into Speak Rescue and Sanctuary as a 10 month old deaf heeler who had a owner who did not have the time to devote to Minnie to help her become the best she can be. Minnie will also be sponsored through our DDR Rocker Puppy/Dog Sponsorship program to help the rescue with some of the cost of her care and vetting.

Above: Sweet deaf 3 month old mini Aussie puppy Rocket is the result of Double Merle breeding and is very lucky to be in rescue. His care and vetting will also be sponsored through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue sponsorship program to help Speak with some of the costs that comes with vetting and caring for a deaf puppy before it is ready for adoption.

Sweet deaf Dachshund puppy Chelsea was relinquished to a vet to be put to sleep as she could not be sold by her breeder. She is a beautiful 12 week old Dachshund who will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship funding to help the Speak Rescue and Sanctuary with some of her care and vetting.

Deaf heeler puppy – Angelas Ark Rescue – Wyoming – PENDING

When we saw a post on the Angelas Ark Rescue Instagram page saying that they were trying to rescue a deaf heeler puppy in Wyoming and needed sponsorship funds to do so, we offered this little nugget a sponsorship to Angelas Ark to help them with the cost of vetting. We get so many request from people in Wyoming who need a rescue for a deaf puppy so we are happy to work with a new rescue who services Wyoming and North Carolina to help as many deaf dog and puppies into rescue where they will get the much needed vetting, learn to live inside with a foster and also so the rescue can carefully screen potential homes for each pup.

We always love working with new rescue partners and I will say we have more deaf dogs in need in the state of Texas more than any other state so when we heard about Code Red Animal Project Inc headed up by husband and wife team Jyl and Brian we were so happy to hear that they have a passion to save deaf and deaf/blind dogs which makes our job a lot easier! Thanks Jyl and Brian for being the following 8 deaf dogs rescue and advocate. All eight dogs will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Code Red Animal Project Inc with their vetting costs to get them ready for adoption. All 8 pups are in foster care learning cool new things every day.

Pink Heart – Gabriel

Sweet deaf puppy Gabriel is now safely with Pink Heart Rescue in Mooresville, IN. He is a little deaf cocker spaniel puppy who will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program so we can help Pink Heart pay for Gabriel’s vetting to get him ready for adoption soon. Thanks to our supporters who continue to support Deaf Dogs Rock mission to help one deaf dog at a time.

Allison – DC Dogos Rescue Inc

When our friends at DC Dogos Inc Rescue reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock to see if we would sponsor one of three 10 month old Dogo puppies which happens to be deaf we were happy to help. Sweet deaf 10 month old Allison is a fraction of the weight she should be. The entire litter of pups looks like Allison. There are so many back yard breeders of Dogos in CA that the supply for these puppies is way higher than demand so DC Dogos is seeing a lot more of these tragic cases. Sweet Allison and her siblings are safely with DC Dogos even though they have very limited resources in CA (the rescue is headquartered out of Florida). Allison will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship to help DC Dogos with some of her vetting expenses. Thanks to our friends Vern and Patricia who work tirelessly to raise funds for Deaf Dogs Rock so we can help to sponsor deaf dogs like sweet deaf puppy Allison into rescue. Because of their hard work and donation, we were able to sponsor some of Allison’s medical needs.

Kiwi, Eli and Socks – Speak for The Unspoken – Ohio

Above: Sweet deaf 1.5 year old Kiwi was saved by Speak and pulled from a shelter. Kiwi will be sponsored into rescue by Nitro’s Fund to help Speak For The Unspoken Rescue in Ohio with some of Kiwi’s medical expenses to get him ready for adoption. If you would like us to continue to help deaf boxers in need and you would like to donate in honor of your deaf boxer, please click here for more information and to donate.

Eli is a 11 month old Double Merle Aussie who is deaf and vision impaired and came to Speak to the Unspoken from a shelter in Kentucky. Eli will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Speak with some of his vetting expenses prior to being available for adoption.

Above: Socks is a beautiful 10 month old Double Merle Aussie who was rescued by Speak for the Unspoken Rescue from a negligence case in TN.
