Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of August to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 20 deaf dogs into rescue in August 2022. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to this year in 2022, so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.
It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $5000 and $7000.00 + each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships! If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.
Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered be before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians).
Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 20 deaf dogs/pups in August 2022 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in the first 28 weeks of 2022, our DDR community has sponsored 172 deaf pups into rescue.
Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1268 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 8/31/22).
Below are the recaps of each deaf puppy we sponsored into a partner rescue in the month of August 2022
Pre and Tatum – Perfectly Imperfect Rescue in CT
Pre is a deaf and blind puppy who came into Perfect Imperfections Rescue along with little Tatum who is also deaf and might have some vision issues. We are so thankful to Trisha at Perfect Imperfections Rescue in CT for saving these two little deafies. Both Pre and Tatum are recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program so we can sponsor them and help with their vetting costs.
From KS Shelter to Ohio- Junie B – Deaf Dogs Makes it to Pink Heart Rescue!
Thanks to the Pink Heart Rescue team for getting this little deaf girl from a KS Shelter. It took a team of animal lovers working together to get her from a KS Shelter to her foster in Ohio. This little girl was in the shelter since April and now she is in Ohio with her foster family. Thanks to Katie at the Cowley County Humane Society for being her advocate and reaching out to Pilots N Paws to get her safely from KS to Ohio. This little girl will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Pink Heart with her care and medical expenses. Thanks to our friend and support Agata Harris and her dog Siba for helping us sponsor this little girl.
Buddy Tiffany and Brittany – Main Line Animal Rescue
This trio was struggling at the shelter and they had zero offers despite almost 6 thousand shares but then a miracle happened! They were always well taken care of by their owner… until their owner became homeless. Buddy (sweet pit mix) is blind, and possibly deaf. Both of his sisters (Aussie blends) are also hearing impaired. All three are between one and two years old. They can’t function without each other. If Buddy is away from his sisters, he starts to spin from the stress in his kennel.
When Deaf Dogs Rock put up a rescue plea on our DDR FB page we were so hoping a rescue would step up and help all three dogs and then it happened! We are thrilled to announce not only did Main Line Animal Rescue put these three but they also pulled another 7 dogs from the shelter for a total of 10 dogs pulled. All three of these hearing impaired deaf dogs will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help Main Line Animal Rescue with some of the costs of their upcoming vetting bills.
Galileo – The Saints of Great Divide Rescue
When we saw this post from Houston Saves Lives is Our Mission we were just heartbroken and knew we had to try to help by offering a Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship to a reputable 501c3 foster based rescue to help Galileo. Here is his photo from the AC truck. From Houston, Saves Lives is our Mission:
It gives us great pleasure to sponsor deaf dog Galileo into rescue with The Saints Great Divide. The top photo is his AC photo, the middle is his freedom ride and the bottom is him relaxing once he got to rescue. We want to thank Saints of Great Divide for recognizing this dog from 9 months earlier and jumping into gear to get him out of the shelter right away. No 12 year old deaf dog should be living on the streets. It is a miracle he is still alive. We also want to thank our friends Vern and Patricia Kerst who raised enough money and donated to DDR so we could sponsor not on ly Galileo but also Buddy, Tiffany and Brittany into rescue. You two ROCK!
Dax and Dylan – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary
Thanks to our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary for rescuing Dax and Dylan. These two 4.5 month old Aussies had been picked up by animal control a couple of times before the owner decided they could just keep them, which turned out to mean a death sentence for Dylan simply because he is deaf. Both Dax and Dylan will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Speak with their vetting costs.
3 Deaf Catahoula Pups make it from Texas to Ohio – Pink Heart Rescue
Thanks to Pink Heart Rescue and one of our DDR Ambassadors Morgan Roberts these three deaf Catahoula pups made it all the way from Texas to Morgan’s home in Ohio. Morgan is a foster for Pink Heart Rescue and we are so thankful to the Pink Heart Rescue team for saving these tree little ones! All three will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help all three get the vetting they need prior to them finding their new homes.
Kayden – Green Dogs Unleashed
A nice person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock to see if we could help with deaf puppy Kayden. We reached out to our partner rescue here in Virginia Green Dogs Unleashed and they agreed to make room for Kayden. They had the perfect foster home line up so he could learn all kinds of new things and have other dogs to play with. Thanks to GDU for helping us with Kayden. Kayden will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with his vetting costs so GDU can continue to help deaf puppies like him often. We also want to thank Monica Bauldry for donating $100 to Deaf Dogs Rock in honor of her mother’s deaf dog Jules. Her donation will help with 50% of Kayden’s rescue sponsorship.
Blue – Deaf Dog Rescue of American – California
Thanks to our friends at the Deaf Dog Rescue of American for saving deaf dog Blue right before his euthanasia date was up! Blue will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help the Deaf Dog Rescue of America with his vetting costs so they can continue to help deaf dogs in need of rescue and vetting.
Sweet deaf/vision impaired/neuro challenged Daisy – Green Dogs Unleashed
Sweet deaf blood hound Daisy made the long trip from Texas all the way to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy VA. We wanted to help Daisy because she is our first deaf blood hound who also has vision impairment on our left eye and neuro issues as far as walking straight. She will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship. We sent in $500 to get her a thorough check up to see what might be causing her neuro issues and hopefully the GDU team and the vet team can figure out a way to help her get her mobility back. She is a very sweet and smart dog and she is going to bless a family in the future. Thanks to every single Highway Hero Rescue Transport Team member who help DDR/GDU get Daisy safely to Virginia where she can get the help she needs.
Aussie Shepherd Puppy – Green Dogs Unleashed
So thankful that pilot Rob helped this little girl make it from Nashville to Roanoke VA. She originated from Florida and he was kind enough to keep her over night and fly her to Virginia (with his friend accompanying him) so I could pick her up and get her on her way to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy VA. She is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help GDU with her upcoming vetting expenses prior to her being available for adoption.
Ludwig – GDU – Pending
GiGi – Pink Heart Rescue
When a person reached out to us for help with a little deaf bully puppy, we reached out to our Ambassador Morgan and Pink Heart Rescue. Alyx with Pink Heart was so kind to make room for Gigi in her program and she had a great foster in Ohio so it all worked out perfectly. GiGi will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program so we can help Pink Heart Rescue with her vetting expenses to get her ready for adoption in the near future.
Ludwig – Green Dogs Unleashed
When a person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help with a little deaf heeler mix puppy named Ludwig, we reached out to our Virginia partner rescue Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they had an open foster for a little heeler puppy. They did have an opening and the awesome Highway Heroes Rescue Transport team put together a three day rescue transport (with no paws on the ground) of drivers to get Ludwig safely from Texas to Virginia. We are so thankful for every single person who took time out of their weekend plans to drive a leg of Ludwig’s rescue transport. Ludwig will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with his vetting costs before he gets adopted.
Kia – Deaf vision impaired Aussie – Perfect Imperfections Rescue – CT
Sweet 6 month old Kia who is deaf and vision impaired was listed for free and so many people tagged Trisha with Perfect Imperfections Rescue in CT (while she was out of the country on vacation), that Trisha contacted a friend to go get the puppy and keep her safe until Trisha returned to the states. Kia is now safely with Trisha and her rescue and she will be sponsored by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help Trisha with Perfect Imperfections rescue with her vetting expenses.
Aspen – Green Dogs Unleashed – VA
When we were contacted by a woman who needed help finding a special needs rescue for a little deaf boxer/basset puppy in Illinois we reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they had room for deaf puppy Aspen, Aspen arrived in Virginia on August 31, 22 all the way from IL. Aspen will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help GDU with his vetting expenses to get him ready for adoption in the near future.
