I was sad to hear my leg of the transport got cancelled for little deaf Aussie girl Armani. She was headed to our friends up to Poet’s Vision Rescue Perth Ontario and I was half way to my destination pick up when I got a call from Kim the transport coordinator who told me Armani was getting sick so the transport was cancelled. The next day it was confirmed that tiny little Armani tested positive for Parvovirus. She needed medical attention right away and a foster lined up if she was going to thrive and recover.
Photo of Armani taken today 7-8-2013 by her foster Harriet May. As you can see she is enjoying sometime outside sitting in the grass and sunshine. I do believe that is a big smile on her face.
I decided to hold a 48 hour fundraiser on our Deaf Dogs Rock Facebook page for little Armani to help Poet’s Vision with some of her medical expenses. I went ahead and sent Tanya $100 from Deaf Dogs Rock to get her started and over the next 48 hours another $ 525.00 came in our Support section of our website. We went ahead and sent Poet’s Vision $ 525 + $100 for a grand total of $ 625.00. A big shout out to all of you who gave a donation to go towards Armani’s treatment.
It has been almost two weeks and Armani is thriving in her foster home. She lived! This is great news and she should be ready for transport in a couple of weeks.
Good Bless everyone who helped including her Veterinarians, Rescue partners, networking friends, Harriet May her temporary foster family and to Poet’s Vision for making the commitment to take Armani. According to my deaf dogs Nitro and Bud, you all totally ROCK!
