The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow and a home visit is also performed to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues who spay/neuter each deaf dog in their care before it is placed in a new home.

It is our number one mission to make sure each deaf puppy gets basic training, socialization. are in a loving and caring foster home where their confidence soars. Our partners set each deaf dog up for success.

In April our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 7 deaf dogs into rescue which brings our total for the year to 32 deaf dogs/puppies sponsored into rescue. A big thank you to all of you who have sent in donations and to all of you who have recently hosted a Facebook Birthday fundraiser for DDR on your personal FB page. YOU ALL ROCK! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock

We could not sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue without your help. Read all of our Rocker Puppy stories on our Donate Page and if you would like to help us help them, please click here to donate.

Zane

When we first saw Zane’s photo our hearts melted so when Monica reached out to us for sponsorship for this little deaf nugget of love, we had to say yes! Zane was taken into Apollo Support and Rescue and fostered by our rescue warrior friend Karla Cagle with iRescue in Killeen Texas. Someone special is going to adopt this little 6 pounds of pure joy!

Rockin 4 Rescues

Donated $100.00 to Rockin 4 Rescues to help them jump start their fundraising trip to raise funds for local rescues in Nevada.

Chunkie

When a Georgia shelter reached out to us (CCAS) and asked if we could help deaf dog Chunkie, we told them we would put a $200 rescue sponsorship on Chunkie if a reputable 501c3 Rescue would pull him and find him a loving home. We were so excited to hear from Coastal Pet Rescue when they let us know they pulled Chunkie and sent Deaf Dogs Rock a freedom photo of Chunkie leaving the shelter.

Fiona

Thanks to our friends at Cowtown Boxer Rescue in the DFW Texas for taking Fiona into rescue. She will be fostered by Jacklynn with Cowtown. Thanks to our friend Jena for bringing Fiona to our attention so we could help her out. Jacklynn and Jena totally ROCK!

Groot

We put out a rescue plea for a deaf dog Groot at Rutherford Co. Paws in Murfreesboro TN and were so fortunate that SNARR stepped up to pull Groot and get him into foster care. Soon he will be headed up to Vermont to be with his permanent foster who has a deaf American Bully and she trains rescue dogs to work with Autistic children. Groot is going to have a very happy life.

Astro

When someone from Texas reached out to us for help with rehoming their 6 month old deaf boxer puppy we offered to sponsor deaf puppy Astro through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program so he could be sponsored into Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia. I personally got to meet Astor and drive one of his transport legs. What an amazing team of volunteers who drive with Highway Heroes Transport Team to get Astor safely from Texas to Virginia. He was a perfect little passenger even though the weather was really bad. Welcome to Virginia Astor. A big shout out to Green Dogs Unleashed and also to Katie and Derek Karnes for fostering Astro.

Ray Charles

It was such a pleasure helping deaf/blind great dane puppy Ray Charles into rescue. I even had the opportunity to do a 7 minute training session with him. Ray is deaf and blind so he will need special training so we transported him and sponsored him into Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy VA where he will go into foster care, start his touch training right away and be loved and well cared for until he is adopted.

Check out Ray’s session with me in this video. He learned to sit in less than 8 minutes!

Salvadore Doggy

Thanks to rescue warrior women Caroline Walker Trulock with Almost Home Rescue in Texas who not only got Salvadore into rescue but is fostering him and had him fully vetted before he makes his trip from Texas to Virginia where he will come into GDU for further training and socialization before he is available for adoption. Deaf Dogs Rock went ahead and sponsored his neuter surgery and microchipping.
