April 2017 was a very busy month for our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program. So far in the first 4 months of 2017, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 51 deaf dogs/puppies into partner rescues throughout the U.S. In April alone, with the help of our Deaf Dogs Rock community, we sponsored 8 deaf dogs/puppies into partner rescues so they could go into experienced deaf dog foster homes and start their foundation training.
If you would like to help us continue our mission to save one deaf dog at a time through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship, please click here to learn more.
By getting each deaf dog/puppy into a committed experienced deaf dog foster home, we can get each deaf pup a solid training foundation and also give the rescue organization an opportunity to evaluate the deaf dog in their care to accurately assess what kind of home to look for. For example, if a deaf dog has a weakness with house training, then the foster will make house training a training priority to set each deaf dog up for success in their future home. Also while each pup is in foster care, the rescue organization starts the search for the perfect home by screening adoption applications, checking all references, and performing a home visits to make sure it is a good match and a safe place for the deaf dog to start his/her new life.
A big thanks to our Deaf Dogs Rock community of supporters who continue to help us financially so we can continue to help deaf dogs in need. A special thanks to Vern and Patricia for your continued support and fundraising efforts because without your support, we would not be able to sponsor the number of deaf dogs into rescue that we currently are sponsoring. This helps each dog be spay/neutered and vetted before they are adopted.
According to my deaf dogs Nitro, Bud, and Bowie our DDR community totally Rocks. Below are our April 2017 sponsored deaf dogs.
Agatha
Thanks to the City of Salem Animal Shelter for taking such good care of Agatha and getting her spayed. Also a big shout out to Green Dogs Unleashed who found her a perfect foster in Liz Reynolds who after fostering Agatha for a week decided to officially adopt her! Thanks Liz for bring Agatha’s hero!
Snow
Thanks to Green Dogs Unleashed for making room for deaf puppy Snow!
Joan Jett aka J.J.
A big shout out to Poet’s Vision Rescue in Perth Ontario Canada for helping Joan Jett.
Sky
Sky was sponsored into Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy VA. Isn’t Sky a cutie pie?
Sparkles
Thanks to iRescue who pulled sweet deaf puppy Sparkles from the Garland Animal Control.
Darby
Deaf Dogs Rock heard about a dog at a vet clinic that had really bad separation anxiety so we sent out a foster plea and also sponsored deaf dog Darby who is with Mended Harts Rescue in IN.
Casper (known as Cerberus)
We put a rescue plea out for deaf dog Cerberus at the Guilford County, NC shelter and we were happy to sponsor Cerberus now Casper into a safe harbor of a rescue. Big thanks to the Triad SPCA in Greensboro for pulling Casper to safety and a huge shout out to Allison Shelton for fostering Casper and being his deaf dog advocate. Because of the support of our Deaf Dogs Rock community Casper can now be vetted and neutered before he goes to a new home.
Anne Marie aka now Mugsy
We were worried about Anne Marie when the shelter contacted us because not only is she a senior but it is clear she had some major tumors that needed to be removed. We jumped into gear and put out an all points bulletin to pay a Rescue Sponsorship from our Rocker Puppy Program to pay to a 501c3 who would pull Anne Marie and help her. We were thrilled when Forget Me Not Rescue in Manhattan IL contacted us to let us know she was safely in their care. Her new name is now Mugsy so she can start her new life with a new name.
It is because of our wonderful supporters we can move forward to help deaf dogs like sweet Mugsy here. Thanks to Forget Me Not Animal Rescue for helping Anne Marie aka Mugsy and to all our supporters who continue to donate to your mission to help one deaf dogs at a time.
On a final note we could not do what we do here at Deaf Dogs Rock without the awesome support of our readers, followers and partner rescues.
Thanks again for helping Deaf Dogs Rock help pups just like Mugsy into the safe havens of reputable animal rescues.
