Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of July to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 20 deaf dogs into rescue in July 2022. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to this year in 2022,  so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $5000 and $7000.00 + each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. If you would like to donate to our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program, please click here.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 20 deaf dogs/pups in July 2022 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in the first 28 weeks of 2022, our DDR community has sponsored 152 deaf pups into rescue.

Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1248 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 7/31/22).

Below are the recaps of each deaf puppy we sponsored into a partner rescue.

Snowy – Northwest Boxer Rescue

When we saw Snowy’s plea for help we immediately put out a Rescue Plea on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page. We were so happy to hear that Northwest Boxer Rescue pulled this sweet girl and immediately took her to the vet. We did see a video of her kissing her driver because she was so happy to be out of the shelter  in San Bernardino, CA. Snowy will be sponsored by Nitro’s Fund to help with some of her vetting. If you would like to help other deaf boxers like Snowy, please click here to donate.

A big shout out to Northwest Boxer Rescue for helping Snowy get out of the shelter and being her advocate to get her heathy and find her a new loving forever home.

Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – 4 Double Merle pups rescued

All the shelters and rescues are bursting at the seams right now and there are several litters of Double Merle puppies popping up here and there and everywhere. These four are from a DM litter of 8 with 4 of the pups carrying the DM jean and  have different levels of deafness and vision impairments. With Speak Rescue and Sanctuary being in the state of MO, they are going to see a lot more of the DM pups (because of all the puppy mills) in their state so they tend to step up a lot more to help them since these special needs puppies are literally right in their back yards. All four of these pups will be sponsored by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help the rescue with some of their vetting expenses so they can get ready to be adopted soon.

South Caroline Dalmatian Puppy – Green Dogs Unleashed

When we heard from a breeder who was having an hard time finding the right home for her 12 week old Deaf Dalmatian, we reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they could make room for this little boy. Thanks to Erika with GDU and her driver Carolyn Cooper who drove all the way to South Carolina and back in one day to make sure this little boy ended up in the right place at GDU.

Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – Tango, Samba and Cha Cha

These three month old pups who are a result of Double Merle breeding, landed into Speak Rescue and Sanctuary on July 15, 2022. Thanks to Speak’s volunteer drivers these three little ones are now safe. Meet Tango, Samba and Cha Cha. Each puppy has varying degrees of hearing loss and vision impairments. All three will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship to help the rescue with some of their upcoming vetting costs. Thanks to our generous donors like Angelique and her husband Kevin who donated in memory of their deaf dog Montana on his 15th birthday on July 13, 2022. Thanks to Angelique and Kevin kind consideration and generosity these puppies will be sponsored into rescue at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary in St. Louis MO. They have also sponsored deaf dog Dusty and have saved his life!

Dusty – WAAR

When we heard from Joy that a rescue was closing down due to some legal troubles and Dusty needed help getting to another rescue we offered a $250 rescue sponsorship for him to go to a reputable 501c3 foster based rescue. Above is our rescue plea.

Dusty’s Freedom Ride!

Ashley and Wesley from WAAR took Dusty in and got him to the vet right away because of a injury on one of his feet. We sent WAAR a $300 rescue sponsorship to help with Dusty’s vetting. Thank you to both Wesley and Ashley for helping deaf dog Dusty out of a possibly nefarious situation.

In Memory of Martha Anne Lundgren

Deaf Dogs Rock received a donation to sponsor a deaf dog in loving memory of Martha Anne Lundgren. The note that came with the donation read:  “Martha recently passed away due to lung Cancer. She was a devoted animal lover. This donation to Deaf Dogs Rock is from family members Jeff and Kat Higginbotham, Bob and Dorma Yates, Cary J. Higginbotham and Mark Higginbotham. May Martha rest in peace.”

Casper – Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue

Thanks to Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue for taking Casper to help him learn new skills, get vetted and find a new home. Casper will be sponsored into rescue by Nitro’s Fund which was set up to help deaf boxers in need of rescue.

4 Malnourished 12 week old deaf and vision impaired Catahoula Puppies – White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue

When it rains it pours! We have never seen so many deaf and deaf/vision impaired puppies coming from Double Merle Breeding in all of our 12 years we have been doing Deaf Dogs Rock. Our rescue partners are overwhelmed with Double Merle puppies, young adult dogs and senior dogs. All the foster homes are packed and adoptions have slowed way down in a trouble economy. For this reason it is up to our Deaf Dogs Rock community to support as many deaf dog sponsorships with our partner rescues as we can. Thanks to White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue for taking on these four Dbl Merle Catahoula pups who were in pretty bad shape when they came into rescue. Hopefully they are gaining weight and their strength every single day. All four puppies will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with their vetting before they go to their new homes.

Russell – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary

It is so sad when a deaf puppy who is only 4 months old has already had a few homes. Russell’s first home wanted to shoot him. His second home, who saved him from getting shot, decided a puppy and a baby is too much and gave him away but that home returned him after only three days. Thanks to our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary sweet Russell is now safely in their rescue where he will go into foster care, learn new things, get all his vetting completed, and be matched with a loving forever home. Russell is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program to help with his vetting costs.

Poppy – Friends of Bedford County VA Shelter

This deaf 8-month-old puppy was surrendered to Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc. on June 29 after being hit by a car. His back left leg and part of his pelvis were shattered. He also had broken ribs. BCHS sponsored the amputation at Riverside Animal Hospital where he has been recuperating and learning to walk on three legs. Our friend Hope decided to foster him so that he can relax on a comfy couch and get lots of love to help him heal from the physical and emotional trauma he has experienced.
Poppy will also be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship to help Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter with his neuter surgery since they have already had so many expenses with Poppy already.  Once he gets back from his neuter surgery he will have time to relax and heel with his foster mom Hope. We are hoping everything works out to be a foster to adopt situation but only time will tell. Hope is a trainer with High Hopes Dog Training and she is hoping that Poppy does well with other dogs so he can be part of her High Hopes Team

Eleven, Joyce and Maxine – Double Merle puppies from Kentucky – Speak For The Unspoken – Ohio

Sweet Eleven, Joyce and Maxine are now safely in rescue with our friends in Ohio at Speak For The Unspoken Rescue where they will go into loving foster homes and learn new things. They are double Merle Aussies, all are female and believed to be deaf. They were surrendered from a backyard breeder in KY and are 10 weeks old. All three are recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Speak with their medical bills to get them ready for adoption in the near future.

****Thank you to every single person and organization who supported Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of July. Without your financial support we would not be able to sponsor 20-30 deaf dogs into rescue every single month. We are forever grateful! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
