Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of July 2021 to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 9 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in the month of July 2021. We were in full swing of puppy season in the month of July with deaf puppies showing up at Animal Shelters across the country. So far this year our awesome Deaf Dogs Rock community/supporters has sponsored a total of 115 deaf dogs into rescue in the first seven months of 2021 which is fantastic! Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes a great match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each partner rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so the dogs can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. If you would like to donate to our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program, please click here.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 9 deaf dogs/pups in July 2021 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy.

Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program we have sponsored 989 deaf dogs (as of 07/31/21) into rescue.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~ Christina Lee

Maggie – White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue – Delaware

When we were contacted by a shelter in Chatham VA looking for a special needs rescue for little deaf puppy Maggie, we reached out to White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue in Delaware and asked Christine their director if she would consider making room for Maggie and she did. Thanks to Margie who fostered Maggie to keep her out of the shelter system and to the volunteer drivers who helped Maggie get from Virginia to Delaware. Also thank you to our supporters Pat and Vern for sponsoring Maggie into rescue.

Dori and Crosby – Happy Tails Animal Rescue (HTAR) – Oklahoma

Sweet Dori was surrendered by a breeder because she is deaf. Our friends at Happy Tails Animal Rescue in Oklahoma stepped up to rescue Dori. She will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program so we can help with her vetting to get her ready for adoption soon.

Crosby

Crosby was surrendered to a vet clinic so a rescue could step up and help him. He has medical issues the family could not afford so our friends at Happy Tails Animal Rescue stepped up and did an emergency transport to get him to Edmond OK to the rescue’s vet. Crosby will get a medical sponsorship from our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program. Thanks to Moria and her team with HTAR for stepping in to help Crosby before it was to late.

Sunshine – Loving All Animals – Coachella CA

After finding out about deaf German Shepherd Sunshine at a California shelter, Deaf Dogs Rock immediately offered a $200 rescue sponsorship to a reputable 501c3 foster based rescue to step up and help Sunshine. Sunshine had lost her human and the shelter community rallied around her to reach out to advocates to network her for rescue. We started networking Sunshine on our Deaf Dogs Rock Facebook page and we are so thankful for Loving All Animals Rescue in Coachella CA for pulling Sunshine and getting her to a safe place. We are also thankful to our friends Vern and Patricia for sponsoring Sunshine into rescue through their hard work and donations to Deaf Dogs Rock so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs like Sunshine into rescue.

Dobby and Neville – Speak St. Louis Rescue

When we heard about two deaf puppies dumped at different locations around St. Louis, Deaf Dogs Rock wanted to help. We reached out to Speak St. Louis and let them know that both Dobby and Neville will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program. As you can see both Dobby and Neville are not only deaf but visually impaired. Thank goodness they ended up at Speak St. Louis where they will get the much needed medical attention to properly evaluate their needs. Dobby and Neville are part of the Harry Potter litter. Update on 8/4/21: The other three pups in the litter were found out in the rural country in MO and are now safe. Their sponsorships are in August 21

Archie –  and Boxer Green Dogs Unleashed – Pending

When Archie’s owner contacted Deaf Dogs Rock and we learned that Archie lived in a big city and seldom got out and about because his energy level was so high (and lack of training and socialization as a puppy) we knew we had to help get him to the country where he could run for the first time, learn new things, meet new people and be matched with a family who will continue his training/socialization and also exercise/enrich him daily. We reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue which sits on  7 acres just outside of Charlottesville VA to see if they had room for Archie. They took Archie into rescue on July 20 where he will receive his vetting and much needed grooming. Archie got to run off leash for the very first time in his life in an open 5 acre field and boy was it a sight to behold. Archie is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program to  help him with his vetting expenses. Thanks Erika Proctor with Green Dogs Unleashed for setting aside time in your busy schedule to work and help Archie be the best deaf dog he can be.

Mazee – Speak For The Unspoken – Ohio

This sweet Olde English Sheepdog is the first one to go into our partner rescue Speak For The Unspoken Rescue in Ohio. There are many Amish puppy mills in Ohio and sweet Mazee was dumped by a puppy mill. She is in the safe harbor of a special needs rescue with our friends at Speak For The Unspoken. She will get all her vetting done, learn new things in her foster home and be available for adoption soon. Mazee is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program so we can help with her vetting costs. This allows the rescue to continue to be able to take in deaf dogs and puppies in need of rescue.

Jack-Green Dogs Unleashed

Sweet Jack came from a shelter in Virginia and was transported to Green Dogs Unleashed. Poor 10 month old Jack came with a plethora of medical issues and had to be rushed to the vet once he got to the Charlottesville area. Jack received a medical sponsorship from Nitro’s Fund to help with the $1500 in medical expenses. Thanks to our friends Patricia and Vern Kerst for working hard to upcycle furniture and selling the furniture to help donated funds for deaf dogs like Jack. Because of their generosity Jack received the medical attention he needed.

Deaf Dogs Rock could not do what we do without the financial support of our Deaf Dogs Rock community. Every single day we are grateful for your kind consideration and support of deaf dogs who don’t have a voice. Our community has stepped up to become their voice and we will be a very strong voice when it comes to advocating for each deaf dog.  Thank you so much for your continued support.
