Since many of us have senior rescue dogs, I wanted to share my thoughts on Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe Dog Food. We have two senior smaller dogs we feed Honest Kitchen dog food.  The first dog is our senior dog Pepe. We decided we would foster this feeble little guy. After a few weeks of Pepe being with us, Pepe’s true personality started to shine and we totally fell in love with him. We never planned on adding a SIXTH dog to our family but we wanted to make sure Pepe was given the opportunity to have the best life he could possibly have to try to make up for all of his years of neglect.

Pepe was in pretty rough shape when we first got him home here on the farm and because of his neglect, he had to have all of his teeth removed to save his life. Since he couldn’t really run because he if he tried to run his body would tilt to one and then he would fall over, we decided we needed to find a high quality dog food to try to put a spring back in his step again. He couldn’t see very well either so we knew we needed to look into buying a healthy high quality “human grade” type of dog food. I also needed to be able to find a dog food he could drink because he had no teeth whatsoever. I did a lot of research looking for a high quality dog food.

When I read about Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe dehydrated dog food, I thought it might fit the bill perfectly and I was right. Another thing I noticed about Pepe was I never saw him drink water out the community water dish. I was constantly worried about him getting sick because he wasn’t getting enough fluids. With the Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe Dog Food (all I had to do was just add water to make a batch), I could increase the amount of water to each batch if his water intake was low for the day (or make it a little bit thicker if he didn’t need as much water).

Pepe is crazy about the Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe! He runs through the entire house (without falling over) because he is so excited when I get his Honest Kitchen out of the refriderater. He will even jump up and do spins right before each meal because he goes crazy over his HK dog food! He loves it! He has gained muscle mass all over his entire body and he looks and acts like a young dog again. He runs and plays with all the dogs in our home!

 

I can make really small batches or large batches and then store them in the refrigerator.

I have two smaller senior dogs that are Chihuahua mixes and a senior German Shepherd mix who love the Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe on top of their dry dog food. The Honest Kitchen Revel is a great option for picky eaters or dogs who prefer chicken like my dogs Lexi, Tallulah and Bailey. Revel is perfect for my four dogs because all four of them can tolerate grain. They need a dog food with higher percentages of protein and fat content which the Honest Kitchen Revel contains (15.30% Fat, 24.50% Protein, 46.60% Carbohydrates).

 Three of my dogs like the Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe on top of their dry kibble because they are picky eaters and it helps me to get them to eat all of their dry dog food.

For those of you who have several dogs (or if you just have one or two dogs) sometimes it is in the best interests of each dog to have their own nutritional plans based on your pup’s individual needs. In our case we use the Honest Kitchen Revel Chicken Recipe for four of our dogs to make sure they get the nutrients and protein they need.
