Meet adoptable deaf 4 month old Catahoula mix puppy Teddy who is currently in foster care but looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish him, be committed to consistent positive reinforcement training (and socialization) and always keep him safe.
From his foster: Say hi to my new foster baby Teddy. He was born April 7th, 2018 and he just turned 4 months old. Teddy currently weighs about 35 pounds so he is probably going to be a big boy! Teddy is a Catahoula mix. He is such an awesome puppy and he needs a loving home with someone who will be his best friend.
Teddy has a great personality and he is pretty laid back for a puppy but he does love to be active and play. He is create trained and sleeps through the night.
Teddy is still working on the potty training, but he’s young and will catch on soon enough with a structured and consistent daily training routine.
Teddy and I are learning new hand signs daily for visual commands. He is my very first deaf foster dog and he is teaching me how to train a deaf puppy. I have learned that the most important thing when it comes to training a deaf puppy and that is the sign command for “watch me” so he can see what I am asking him to do. Teddy is an smart cookie and he is catching on to his sign commands very fast. I just hope I’m as quick to catch on as he has been.
Teddy is currently looking for his foever home with someone who will love him, make training a priority and always keep his safety a number one priority. He is current on all vaccines, including lepto and rabies. He is also neutered and has been micro-chipped.
