Taako is a cuddly, adoptable deaf 9-month-old pitbull puppy who is very excited about her life, and very dedicated to her people. She is currently looking for a new forever home with someone who will cherish her, teach her new things using positive reinforcement training methods and always keep her safe.
Taako was found abandoned in Brooklyn, NY, and we discovered she had been abandoned by a backyard breeder because of her disability. The first picture we have of her shows her sleeping on a doormat that says “I hope you brought tacos” – hence her name.
This little pitbull is full of love and energy. The one thing she wants is to be close to her people – she loves cuddling, and she’s always curious about what we’re up to around the house. She is learning boundaries, though, and she can sleep through the night in her spot next to our bed. (If she had her wish, she’d sleep ON the bed). She is also starting to learn hand signals, and quickly picked up on how to sit.
Taako is great with other dogs – very social and playful. However, some dogs get frustrated when they can’t tell her to stop (since she can’t hear them). She’d do very well in a home with another dog who was happy to cuddle with her, and could politely tell her “no.”
If you’re looking for a bright-eyed, delightful force of happiness (who happens to be deaf), Taako would be a wonderful friend for you.
If you are interested in adopting her please contact Jennifer and ask to fill out an adoption application. They are comfortable driving up to an hour for the first meet and greet and up to two hours outside of NYC if you get approved for adoption. Taako’s adoption fee is $150.00
