Meet adoptable deaf one year old Great Dane Sully who is looking for a loving home with an experienced Great Dane person who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.
From his caregiver: I got Sully, a hearing impaired Great Dane, when he was just a baby. I know what typically happens to these dogs, especially at his size, and I couldn’t allow that to happen. He just turned one on December 23 and has started to fight with my other dogs. Due to his impairment, he doesn’t hear the low growl warning, which I’m sure you can imagine does not end well.
Overall, Sully is the absolute sweetest and most affectionate dog and loves to be close to you at all times. I hope you like snuggles! He is very friendly with all people and always happily greets you when you come home. He currently uses a doggie door to take himself out and knows basic commands with hand signals. He loves squeaky toys and sings along with them as he bites them.
He can hear more high pitched noises and moreso struggles with low pitched voices. Aside from his issues with other dogs, you would never know of any impairment. It breaks my heart to part with him, as we developed a close bond due to getting him after my 13 year old dog had to be put down. All I want is for him to go to a pet free home with someone who will love him and be patient with him. An experienced owner is a must. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines.
