Meet adoptable deaf dog Rose who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish her and always keep her safe.

From her rescue: Rose came to our rescue having been chained. She had severe tick/flea infestation and had to be shaved. Through all of her treatment she has been a jewel. By every right she should distrust people but all she is looking for is a loving hand and a warm, soft place to sleep. To the best of our knowledge she is roughly ten years old and is a hound mix.

Rose is around 26 lbs. and her hair is growing back, slowly, white, tan and brown. She loves to be near her human and enjoys lying next to her furry foster brother. She gets along well with every dog she has encountered. Unknown whether she likes cats. She has such a gentle soul and is very food motivated so it has been relatively easy to teach her sign for sit, come, and good. We are working on paw, and lie down. She is very mellow but on occasion gets a spurt of spunk and she will chase you around the house. She is a great dinner alarm clock as she will be a little vocal if it is after 5 and her dinner isn’t ready.

Rose has done very well with potty training if kept on a schedule. She is currently being fostered in a 5th floor condo so it is sometimes difficult to get her out right away when she indicates she needs to go out. Her perfect match would be a quiet household where her family is looking for a companion to stay by their side. She isn’t quite sure what to make of toys yet but seems interested when her canine friend is playing. Someone with a fenced yard or able to walk her several times a day would be perfect. She walks well on a leash unless it is cold or rainy, then she is a stubborn little hound. Rose truly is a sweet girl with so much love to give. She is so happy to see you when you come home or wake up in the morning.
