Meet adoptable deaf 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier/Labrador mix Remy who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, continue to teach her new things and always keep her safe. She would make a great Agility or Fly Ball prospect because she loves fetching and following her humans.
From her current caregiver: Remy is a 2 year old female Jack Russell and Labrador mix, with a white coat and black spots. She weights about 25 pounds, so she is bigger than a normal Jack Russell. She was rescued from an animal shelter in Riverside CA and taken into a home with another dog and a big back yard. Since that time, we have had to relocate and the other dog had to be given up due to his size. She is a very energetic dog that loves running around, playing fetch, chasing you, and has positive interactions with kids. She has some separation anxiety, and would benefit from an owner than can have people spend time with her. She is indifferent about baths, but likes water as long as it is not being sprayed at her. Remy is very kind and gentle, does not bite, and has a very soft approach to possessions. She doesn’t dig or tear up toys that she knows are not hers, but she does love Kongs/Peanut Butter, and most bones. She basically will eat anything that is not green.
Remy is looking for a family that can give her attention and would be able to walk her multiple times, as well as have some dogs already that she can become friends with. She has never shown aggressive behavior towards another dog, and she loves being around people (even if she gets annoyed by you petting her). She is very warm and welcoming to people, and will wag her little tail and jump up lightly on you.
We have taught her some sign language, she knows how to stay, sit, calm down, off, come, and off. She understands the commands and will generally obey unless she wants to be the little rebel that she is.
My wife and I love our dog, but we also recognize that due to the change in housing and lifestyle, that Remy would be able to thrive in a different environment and because we love her, we want her to have the best home possible. If you want a dog that is gentle, energetic, funny, curious, and will keep up with your kids/energetic adults, then Remy will be a perfect addition to your home 🙂
