Meet adoptable deaf 11 month old Pogo who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make positive reinforcement training/socialization a priority and always keep him safe.
From his rescue: Pogo is an awesome guy, just about 11 months of age and everything we love about pitties. He’s handsome, friendly, good with other dogs and super with people. He made his event debut recently and he was the star of the show, social with everyone and good manners for the entire event. This is pretty great considering Pogo is completely deaf, little man doesn’t hear a thing, but he’s got great signing skills and is 100% into learning new words from his foster mom. Pogo’s a good size at around 50lbs, he’s generally quiet, but does make his opinion known from time to time. He does know the sign for No and he usually respects that, so no worries there.
Pogo is housebroken, crate trained, and he does a pretty good job at sticking to his own toys for chewing. Pogo loves, loves, loves playing ball. Does he bring it back, no he sure doesn’t! But he loves for you to throw it so he can chase it. Maybe one day he’ll learn to bring it back (especially if you use two balls) maybe he won’t, it’s all good.
Pogo’s had lots of dog friends, both male and female. He loves kids and can be gentle, but he is a teenage blockhead, so he may be a bit much for itty bitty kiddos. Cats? Probably not, he does love to chase a squirrel. Pogo’s looking for a partner in crime, he loves to go on hikes, he thinks breweries are fabulous fun, and he’s happy to frog dog on the floor with his Benebone when the days fun has wrapped up. Look at his hansom face, is he for you? Visit southofthebully.com and submit an application, we can’t wait to see what the next chapters of his life adventure look like!
