Update 7/8/18 – Pearl is officially a foster failure, yay!!!!!

Meet sweet adoptable deaf dog Pearl who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will love her, play with her, continue her training and always keep her safe.

From her caregiver: We live in a rural area and animals are always being dumped on our land. Pearl showed up one morning in our barn – she was chowing down on june bugs by the night stalls. She was starving. We knew something was different about Pearl when I walked up beside her, knelt down and invited her over…..and nothing happened!

This wasn’t our first rodeo with a hearing impaired animal, we’ve taken in multiple abandoned and unwanted animals, many of them with special needs. Hubby and I finally got her attention and Pearl allowed us to pick her up. Her little body was bony and she was covered in fleas. After a nice long bath and some puppy food, Pearl sacked out for a long nap.

For several months, Pearl slept on a pallet in our bedroom and did great with potty training. Eventually Pearl was introduced to the outdoor kennel area and our other rescue dogs. Pearl has been with a golden retriever, St. Bernard mix, rottweiler mix, German Shepherds, hound dogs, and a chihuahua. Too many dogs at one time will overwhelm her and she becomes anxious so we rotate her in and out of the house, taking turns with the other dogs. We had Pearl vetted and spayed and she has her 2017 rabies vaccine. She enjoys the outdoors but must be leashed or in a secure yard. She is actually pretty low key. Pearl is a smart girl who has been learning some hand signals. She knows “sit/stay” pretty good. She knows “thumbs up” for when she does something well. Pearl is a good girl who would love to sit by your side and be a couch potato. The perfect family for Pearl would be a home where somebody is always there at the house, a secure fence, and a generally quiet environment with low activity.

We are looking for a loving family for our Pearl. You must live within 2-3 hours drive time, filling out an adoption application is required and if you are approved we have a $100 adoption fee and an adoption agreement to be signed.
