Paisley has had a rough go at life. She is around 6 years old and spent a good portion of those years in a shelter. And before that was used for breeding. We adopted paisley 2 years ago and fell in love with her right away. She is a lab pit mix about 90lbs and has been deaf since birth according to the vet. She treats everyone as if they were her owner and gets excited to see Anyone.

Paisley enjoys car rides, sleeping, treats and golf balls. Because of her being deaf she always wants to be around people whether it’s by touch or sight. She knows some hand signals and does not run if a door is left open.

You may wonder why we would want to find a new home for such a wonderful sweet dog. Well me and my wife had a baby almost a year ago and ever since the baby began to crawl all she wants to do is be by Paisley. We don’t have a very large home and it’s very easy for her to sneak up on Paisley and not a lot of places Paisley can get away. Recently the baby crawled up on her, she barked jumped and she scratched the baby with her paw and cut open her ear.

We have started to keep the baby and the dog completely separated since the incident. She in no way was being vicious, but was startled and seemed to react like a human would when snuck up on. She is constantly nervous and on edge with Fallon and given that we already ended up in urgent care once, we cannot chance another incident.

We equally feel we are being unfair to Paisley by keeping her limited in her movement and interactions around the house during the day when the baby is awake. Especially since Paisley bases everything off of sight and just wants to know we are there. However we cannot risk our daughter. She is a very sweet dog and we think she just needs a home where she can get the love and attention she deserves. We also have an older son (12 years) who she does not have an issue with. It seems to just be out small quick moving baby. She would be prefect in a home with older or no children.

Understand that this breaks are heart to know that we can no longer take care of a dog we love so much.

There is a $150 adoption fee (if you are an approved home) and email James to get a blank adoption application.
